Autograss build part 4. When things go “POP”!

in #actifit5 years ago (edited)

What happens when you miss the gear. On the Rev limiter in 2nd gear, and you go for 3rd and hit 1st. Well, it seamed to have survived the ordeal to begin with. It finished the race and all seamed well. When the car started in the pits for heat 3, on the initial start up, it didn’t sound quite right. But when running, all seamed ok, so we ran with it. Then, mid corner on turn 1, BOOM. The piston must have touched the valve on the unfortunate gear change, and bent it slightly. In heat 3 the head of the valve came off all together and got mangled up in the chamber. This set is back without the car for nearly a season whilst we re-built this one, we also had to keep a number of other cars on track.

The footage was captured by MDH Racing on you tube.

If you weren't buying votes on your content, this is the sort of thing I would consider upvoting.

Yeah. I’ve had this discussion on my next thread. I didn’t realise it was frowned upon. I was just chasing some exposure.

Be careful lest you die of exposure! But seriously, I can't fault your intent, just your methods. The best way to get a following here is to interact with active users. Comment on their posts. Find a community of like-minded folks, and communities will soon be properly integrated here as a full feature I hope. I'll follow your account and try to upvote a few posts in the future.

One thing I will say. Using bidbots and getting downvoted is very good exposure. 👍

Yeah, on top of that now. I had the same advise off some fellow veteran steemers. Same content different approach from now on. I didn’t really know it was an issue, but lesson learned, and it’s all understandable. I took a few months from steem, I used to help my girlfriend with hers as she’s carrying a lot more kudos on here than me. Before we took a break everybody was using bots for votes, I just followed the crowd. When I came back, things had changed without knowing about it.
