Don Quixote Museum & Cervantes Library
In the Spanish city of Ciudad Real, in the autonomous region of Castile-La Mancha, the museum of one of the most famous literary heroes in the world - Don Quixote was opened.
According to Interfax, the museum exhibits are housed in an old two-story mansion with a total area of 1,200 square meters. These are numerous statuettes and paintings depicting the characters of the book, as well as a library of 3500 volumes dedicated to one of the most readable works of art in the world - the novel "The Cunning Hidalgo Don Quixote of La Mancha", published in 1605, by Miguel Cervantes de Saavedra.
In the basement of the house is an old printing house, similar to the one on which the novel was first published.
The collection of various publications "Don Quixote" in many languages of the world will soon become available to all comers, thanks to the Internet.
The creators of the museum hope to constantly replenish the exhibits with new acquisitions and donations.
The choice of a place for a museum is obvious: it was in La Manche, by the will of Cervantes, that he performed his feats Knight of a sad image.
