Here we are at week 57 and again the competition is just getting so amazing, we have so many super talented musicians they are making each week an absolute pleasure to listen to each and every entry.

Another group of never before seen entrants again this week, how are we finding so many brilliant musicians each week?

It seems as though this contest brings out the best in everyone, entrants are super supportive of one another and we just keep getting more and more talented people show up each week to impress us.

This contest is growing every week and everyone entering is the reason for this, you are spreading awareness and bringing in new people - this is one of the most genuine and friendly group of musos I have ever encountered - it's an honour and privilege each and every week.

Today we had our first ever Steemit Musicians show that I co host with @isaria and it was a massive success the audience loved to hear all the amazing music being submitted and we even had our first 20 SBD recipient - a big congratulations to @meno the first Open Mic entrant to win through audience selection!

We will be back again next week, featuring all the judges top five selections and letting the audience choose the new winner from the judges shortlists.

The audience participation this week was awesome, so many listeners dropped by to see what was happening and appeared genuinely blown away by the extreme talent we are presented with each week - I had several comments asking how do the judges choose each week, I'm here to tell you it never gets easier.

But as time goes on the Open Mic contest will only grow and blossom further, so hopefully we can draw some more attention to the very best entrants of Open Mic - to help and make sure all those deserving get some extra attention on their music.

I really want to encourage everyone to drop by to the next show if you can and support your fellow musicians, you never know next week you could be selected!

1st Place - @granaddiction - Triste Mar

Well damn here we go again another brand new steemian that has some insane natural talents, I am simply blown away by some of the caliber of some of our entrants - this is just so exciting.

The songs composition works perfectly, the combination of guitar and amazing vocals just leave the listener wowed - I love this sound and it just keeps getting better the longer you listen.

His vocal range and control is phenomenal, I am a massive fan of that voice and the perfect way you use it to create a unique and compelling sound.

I can't wait to hear what you have in store for us next week, you have an amazing gift and I'm honoured you shared them with our little community here - if you haven't already head on over and check him out!

2nd Place - @kjablonski - Use Somebody

Talking about natural amazing talents @kjablonski jumps to mind immediately, I am so impressed with how faultless her entries are week after week.

She makes it look and sound easy to pull off her these impressive feats, I have quickly become a pretty massive fan girl of @kjablonski - there really hasn't been anything that I haven't loved since she started entering the contest.

Whilst this week she presented a cover, like always she owed the song and the performance - making slight changes to the songs original composition that in my opinion only enhance the sound further.

She has been an amazing addition to the contest and has made the competition that much more difficult to judge, there is just such phenomenal talent here now and @kjablonski is a perfect example of this - if you haven't already head on over and check her work out.

3rd Place - @steembirds - Made It To SteemFest

What can I say about the @steembirds? Well these guys have mastered entertaining the community on mass, they just have so much energy and really seem to enjoy making the music they submit (remember everyone this is meant to be fun, enjoy yourselves).

The @steembirds have created multiple relevant songs about steemit, including their new demo which features 15 original steemit oriented/themed songs - the two have such charisma together and never fail to entertain the viewers they draw.

The two have some real skills, but on top of that they have the confidence to back it up and present their music in a fun and interesting manner - if you haven't already do yourself a favor and check them out now!

4th Place - @lisamalletart - Contemplo o Mundo

These two are again just blew me away with an entry they did a few weeks back, they just have clear and effortless amazing talent.

This song has me bopping along as it goes and on at least a tenth relisten the song still holds up well, with continued impressive harmonies throughout the song - you can hear the beautiful tone they set up and smashed out with perfect precision.

I love how this contest is introducing me to so many new and multi-talented artists, but also that it is giving me a unique opportunity to be influenced by multiple styles, genres and languages I would never have otherwise encountered - I could listen to them for hours.

These guys are just plain and simply brilliant, their song has an overall happy and positive message and feeling that it creates in the listener - don't delay check them out now!

5th Place - @meno - Keep Trying

Again another regular Open Mic entrant that is killing it in this contest, he has some amazing skills in not only songwriting and composition - but also with his skill in playing the guitar and it's all topped off by his awesome skills as a very talented vocalist.

There's a haunting sadness in the tone of this song, I just love the way every note and word draws you into the song further and further - building as it continues and then he just slams it, when you get to the chorus it is just sublime.

I love a song that can make you feel the pain and passion behind the lyrics, his vocals are dripping with emotion and that second run through the chorus sends shivers down the spine - really can't recommend enough that you check out his work!

It was another amazing week, with so many new faces coming in and joining the regulars it's been a really amazing time to be a part of this growing community.

To all entrants you guys do amazing work each and every week, it is tough to keep performing at this level week after week - but you are all doing such a great job.

We can't give everyone a shout out so I just want to ensure everyone taking part, your efforts are truly appreciated and without you guys there wouldn't be anything to judge - so thank you for an amazing opportunity each week.

On the note of the community I thought I'd take a moment to mention that, over at the minnow support program on our discord chat room Peace Abundance and Liberty - the recently revitalised music room has been getting rather active lately.

As well as the recent burst of activity, we have also added a jukebox to the room - so now when you're chatting with people in the music room, you can choose and play music from youtube (this includes open mic entries, I may have already played a couple I really enjoyed).

So far I have seen a few open mic regulars hanging out and about on the PAL chat rooms, now we have a place where we can actively share music live with people were chatting with - this can help musicians in so many ways, not to mention it's just fun to hang out and chat over and about good tunes.

In addition to the new music room Peace Abundance and Liberty chat rooms have a lot to offer, you can access bots to vote on your posts, you can also meet and interact with over 5000 steemians in the channel - this can be a very useful resource to new steemians, but is also a fantastic place to meet and interact with like minded individuals on many different topics.
