The Rose of Jericho

Growing up, I am greatly influence by my parents about being fond of plants. I am always fascinated by mostly flowers and fruits and I know you can tell that by most of the photos I have uploaded here.

I am working into making a plant collection, something magical, quite exotic but still beautiful. I will start with this plant that is mostly known as The Rose of Jericho, the Resurrection Plant, or the Dinosaur Plant but the scientific name is Selaginella lepidophylla.

Above is a Selaginella lepidophylla reviving within 3 hours after watered.

This is a desert plant that thrives in moist areas. It curls up when in extreme and almost complete desiccation. After wetting, it turns into lush green. It unfurls in a couple of hours with enough water it can hold. I really cannot wait to get my hands on this soon and hopefully propagate it if possible. I have heard it is hard to propagate these babies when not in their natural habitat. From what I have known, there is two species that is known as the resurrection plant and that is the Anastatica. I am also wanting that soon but I'm crossing my fingers for the other first.
