Photos from my trip to Chinatown in Bangkok.
After the two years’ lockdown, life has started to pick up pace slowly. Things have taken quite sometime to get back to usual routine of life around the city once more. I took a trip to Chinatown to check out the activities there, hoping to see mire crowds and tourists. I did make a visit during the lockdown, the atmosphere was very quiet and sad. So, this time I was glad to see things much improved.
There were more local people out shopping and I could see some tourists walking around. But the Chinese group tours had not made any move to travel to Thailand yet. So, Chinatown was rather calm and quiet than the usual peak tourism.
However, I could see positive signs of hopeful progress in the near future. People here are eager to work hard to make a decent living. They don’t mind long hours and demanding work; they have to fend for their families. So having work is much better than being unemployed.
I could see smiling faces with hopeful eyes. These vendors and their staff have to work till early hour in the morning and have a few hours sleep before next day’ tasks and preparation. I admire these people’s stamina and endurance for hardship. I hope sbd pray for their success and prosperity.
Have a wonderful year of the Rabbit!
Take care.
