And of course on bikes :-). But why are they not skating ;-)? https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/winter-olympics-2018/2018/02/12/winter-olympics-dutch-mock-katie-couric-comments-speedskating-netherlands/328425002/
There is no ice on the canals currently :(
The police in my country no one is cycling
Yeah, this is Amsterdam ;)
Great shot, Julian! They looks so young and...benign somehow, compared to ours. I remember when our 'bobbies on the beat' seemed helpful and approachable, but sadly they appear to be emulating American cops increasingly these days. Last time I pointed a camera at a British copper, I got a right telling off for it. Never mind. Thanks for sharing this!
Point you camera more often at them! They applied for a public job, and that is part of it!
They get a bit stroppy over here these days, Julian - I need to wear my 'I'm a photographer, not a terrorist' t-shirt and try to lighten them up a bit ;o) They take themselves far too seriously once you start arming them with tasers and that kind of shit. It goes to their head and they turn into little bully boys and little Hitlers. It's always good to remind them that they are public servants, but I'm afraid they don't see themselves that way anymore. And in fact, given that our police forces are increasingly privatised and serving corporate interests, alarmingly, in a way, they are quite correct. I'm glad your lot are still more chill <3 x
