Limited Trading Day
I had an early training this morning and was not able to trade the opening session before work. As it happens, today was a slow market day anyway, and I didn't even stop out of anything either. Still, I look forward to the time when I can just trade and not go into work anymore.

While everything else about an open trade is established at entry, the ‘stop loss’ order will be adjusted periodically over the life of a trade. The idea is to move the stops at key price points and let the profitable trades keep running.
Such a slow day, I didn't even move any stops.

Yes, I can understand the appeal of this goal. I assume you find a lot of satisfaction in this type of "work" (as I believe work is just a part of life)? My own experience with anything resembling attempting to "time the market" has not worked out well for me.
Perhaps you have enough skill and some sort of algorithm to use as an aide that you will be successful.
I have always loved trading and everything finance, so it's very satisfying.
An algorithm is just a strategy that's been codified. I guess you could say that what I'm doing is a 'manually executed algorithm' since it's very rules-based. At some point I will either learn enough python to code it or hire somebody to code it for me. In the meantime, I find it valuable to track all the different stocks and my list manually and get a 'feel' for what the markets are doing, even though I still stick to the rules of my strategy.

I would love to get into trading, but even creating stop-loss orders confuses me a little (like why someone would want to do that opposed to just a limit order?)
I don't really like fiat but have been mucking around crypto exchanges a bit.. But I realise they are a totally dfferent ball game.
Would you have a suggestion for where to start? A free-to-play demo account that still acts true to life? There are so many options I don't know who has the better show...
I should do a post about order types. These work totally differently.
This depends on what types of assets you want to trade. A demo account for equities with a legit market feed is a very rare bird. A demo account for forex is really easy to get. Different asset classes behave a lot differently though, and which is appropriate for you depends a lot on your strategies.
