The Nigerian Government Extends Lockdown For Covid-19; What's Logical And What Isn't?
One thing is actually logical and that's the extension of lockdown/quarantine because there isn't any viable means to tackle corona virus not in Nigeria, not anywhere in the world unless of course Bill Gate and the Chinese are cooking something in their backyard. Truth is, Nigeria doesn't really have a vocal president and he has the worst public relations skills ever in the history of Nigerian presidents. When he of course announced the extension of the lockdown many people were angry, but then I asked myself, why are people angry?
Is it that they think lockdown should called off while the pandemic is still being massively transmitted? Is it that they feel it's better to be infected rather than staying indoors? But then I realised the Nigerian citizens aren't angry because of any of these reasons. They're angry because the government hasn't really been profession enough with the lockdown, they haven't been diplomat enough. They haven't showcased full sovereignty as a federal nation when the lives of their citizens I'd threatened.
Truth is, many people in Nigeria might die and this isn't because they're infected, they'll die as a result of food poisoning, starvation, banditry, criminals turning thieves to steal food and maim lives. Nevertheless nobody will reckon with this because there's no statistics to show how threatening this is to human lives. Truth is, i feel should locked continues without astute ignorance of people's plight and welfare then Nigeria might just become a lawless land where human right will no longer function. And in the Ogun State and Lagos State area of Nigeria, bandit and thieves has taken to looting and stealing and killing to actually survive.
In essence it's not rational to leave people hapless without a means to fend and feed themselves, this brings an end to any stance on civilisation as time goes on. Now greed and lack of accountability is why Nigeria especially her topmost states is in turmoil and many are already stripping themselves naked, being stripped and beaten by soldiers so they could forcefully stay at home.
Now if a government is trying to protect people and themselves from corona virus and in so doing they subjected them to hunger and lack, isn't this uttermost stupidity? I must say an unfed person isn't different from an animal and we might just be heralding the apocalypse by the time we finish one month of lockdown. We have an extremely greedy and corrupt government and they only care about building alliances with countries like China rather than safeguarding the lives of their citizens.
