Hacking my home boiler - opensourcing the Hovilink designsteemCreated with Sketch.

in #utopian-io7 years ago (edited)

This is a bit of a follow up on an earlier article about hacking into my gas condensing boiler. As promised back then I’m opensourcing my design.

In the meantime utopian.io is getting traction. This is a beautiful initiative to support open source contribution on our favorite steem blockchain. To get a bit of a feel about how this neat project is advancing I decided to opensource my hardware design on a personal github repository and announcing this using the service. One issue I see is that I have to choose a category and this project doesn't really fit in any of them.

At the moment I only created a readme and added the design, this is the initial commit. In a later phase I plan to update the wiki to add some description about the PCB. The files committed contain the Eagle 7.7 schematic and two layer board design as well as a pdf version of the schematic and images of the PCB.

The finished PCB looks like this. Dimensions are 25.6 by 19.8 mm.

A special thanks to openv.wikispaces.com for providing enough information to make this project possible!

Proud minnow, eager to grow.
