With his license revoked, the fidgety man took to public transportation to get around. Upon entering the bus, he saw a former officemate seating on two seats. There were no other free seats available, so he had no other choice. He approached his former officemate and they exchanged pleasantries. The fidgety man asked if he could take the seat next to him, to which his former officemate replied with a stern no.

The fidgety man asked why, but his former officemate just dismissed him with a smile. He tried to squeeze in there, reasoning that there were no other free seats available.

Dejected, the fidgety man just stood there, waiting for a seat to free up.

It takes a special kind asshole to be greedy, especially when resources are low. I mean, I get that other vehicles are bigger, but the spaces provided are strategically done so that any vehicle could fit. Well, except for buses and trucks, but you get what I'm saying.

I have taken photos of a lot of these violators in the past, but I'm holding off on posting the pictures of their faces because, well, I don't want to face any blowback. Although, I have posted some on other social media platforms. There are some who even parked directly above the line, as if they thought it was a guide for them to park in. I've seen vehicles parked diagonally on three spots, I've seen people blocking handicap spaces. Heck, the most common sight I see are cars parked in places that aren't parking spots, just because they couldn't find a spot that's close to where they need to be. These people really deserve to be banned from ever parking anywhere.

What's the worst thing you've seen in parking spots? Share it in the comments section and get a chance to win a prize :D

Last year i parked in a shopping centre car park not long before Christmas. When I came back from the shops someone had parked in front of my car. The only problem being was that it was not a space. In fact it was blocking me in. With a car behind me and this one in front there was no room to manoeuvre out.

I was furious but there was nothing to be done. I waited and waited whilst my ire built and some forty minutes later a lady came out with a really young baby and walked toward the offending car.

I got out and motioned at my beautiful car beast that was trapped behind the bars of her making and gently said, what the fuck?

She looked pissed off as if a fly was buzzing round her head and waved her hand as if so. The baby started crying. She shot me a look of pure venom. I couldn't help myself, I said calmly but loudly.

You blocked me in you mad boot?

She screwed up her face at if she had just inadvertently eaten some hot fish yoghurt before dumping the baby in a car seat and turning to me making yet another face of exasperated disapproval before getting in her car and driving off.

I was utterly baffled, all of her actions were as if I was the offending party!? How can some people not see and accept when they are in the wrong.?

Obviously I hunted her down and gutted her like a fish later but that at they say, is another story.

Haha! Classic Boom! I really hate it when people in the wrong feel entitled as if they were in the right. Really though, I think it's a case of them repeating that they did nothing wrong over and over until they believe it to be true. That's why when the people in the right call them out for it, they think it's a ridiculous accusation haha! Happened to me far too many times to be considered a fluke. If anything, I'm slowly getting desensitized by it haha!

I would've thought she would use the baby as an excuse haha Something about the Christmas season that brings out the worst in drivers. Good on you for being the bigger man, dude. For, as we know, the bigger men are always the ones who are un-gutted in the end! Thanks for sharing your tale!! :D

I would have swore far more had there been no baby. Why, I might have gone nuts!!!

Well, as you can tell, you have a better handle on your temper than I do! Haha!

Hahahahah, Oh my. It must seem that way from my urbane writing, I dont really.

Well maybe I do. I do nowadays. When I was younger I was kinda a light the touchpaper kind of guy!

Ah the heady days!

Maybe control grows with age? I mean, I'm not sure how far apart our ages are, but I would imagine every day adds more buffer to the temper haha!

I think it does! I would venture that I am half again on you? Hopefully not any more than that!!

Hmm I would think you're less than that! I feel we're more older brother-younger brother, than an uncle-nephew haha!

Wish I had a personal experience to share on today's koan, but I don't :/

I do however have a link to a funny story I read a few weeks ago about a firm that used a crane to hoist a woman's car onto a roof because she was parking illegally and blocking traffic.

http://www.scmp.com/news/china/society/article/2107916/parked-car-blocking-way-chinese-firm-hires-crane-move-it-and

HAHAHA! OH MAN! That's all kinds of awesomeness! Justice indeed!

Don't worry about not having an experience for today's koan. If you find a past koan that you can relate to, feel free to just comment there. I respond to every comment :D

Thanks for sharing the article!! :D

;)

I have never understood people who can't manage to put their car between the lines. I mean, there are times when I initially pull in wrong, but if I don't realize it when I park, then as soon as I get out of the car I can see it so I get back in the car and re-arrange it until it's right. It takes all of forty five seconds to correct it. It's just another example of a lack of empathy. And there are too many people who fall into this category.

Right!? Heck, when I was beginning (well, okay even some time in the past year) I won't ever stop correcting my parking even if it takes me a couple of minutes to get it right. Maybe it's just all in the attitude, and other people just don't care about other people.

I guess we just have too much empathy coursing in our veins, sis :) Thanks for dropping by!

I have seen a car parked on a roof, too when I was in Holland, but it was considered art. But here it took nearly ten years of disorder until the town police was established and then the parking credo "park wild and in the opposition to the rules" gradually subsided to a bearable level. Waiting to get a confiscated car back and paying high fees did the job as well as blue lines and tons of parking meters. So now whole town center is blue-lined. Parking on bicycle lanes is still very popular though, so sometimes biking to a town's center is more like a slalom discipline. Bikers are obviously considered a lower race or some second grade citizens. Heck, we don't live in Holland where the bikers a first grade with bicycle lanes as wide as those for the cars.

Oh yeah, we have those kinds of art installations as well here haha! Very strange to see a car parked on the roof just to spite someone though. At least there are some improvements there. Even if it's not yet perfect, at least you could see a positive trend happening, and that's all you could ever ask for :)

Thanks for sharing that story!

When I am driving in my truck, which is full of dents and scratches, I am more likely to try to squeeze into a tight parking space. But when driving our new car I am parked at the back of the lot.

Haha! I guess it does depend on the wear and tear of the vehicle. Don't you get complaints whenever you park in cramped spaces though?

I usually don't, but sometimes will if someone parks poorly and crosses the line.

Ahh yeah.. those bastards who park on top of the lines.

@jedau So much information thanks for sharing.

@jedau Really superior post.

Thanks! Huge praise--superior. I hope it lives up to it!

Nice! Pass the weed elsewhere though. Trying to keep it clean up in here. Bad while driving. Now, go get some munchies.
