Scattered about the country of Vietnam is the Bah Mi stands. These illusive stands sling some of the most delightful creations one can eat. Bring its elegant mixture of Bread, veggies, egg and who knows what else, it makes you say Hmmmm. I could, NOT post about these food things at least once. I may even post about them a second time, and perhaps a third time... I am not too sure yet.
But, Bah Mi... its a type of a baguette, this is cut lengthwise often. The bread sandwich was introduced to Vietnam in the mid–19th century. Since then it has been taken over. The price of such a delight means is a full-on $1, or 20,000 VND.
- Here we see the delightful bread, glowing in the evening light, like beach tanning bodies on the sand.
Bah Mi Steps
- Grab a golden brown tube of cooked wheat. Slice it open and add a bit of mayo.
- Next the Veggies. Use Chopsticks (*Important) and grad the carrot slices, add in some greens, and a cucumber slice.
- Next use a spoon and scoop a few spoons full of liquid on to the bread, not sure what that liquid is, its not soy sauce... fish sauce?? IDK, then some hot sauce? Not sure.. but put some tasty liquid things on it.
- Cook an egg, along with Onions, and a tomato in an old skillet on a small electric stove next to you, then scoop that messy ball of flavor into your bread.
- Almost done.. grab one, or 2, or 3 of these containers and spray that on top of the Vietnamese Taco that is the Bah Mi
- The last step, grab a bit of new print paper and a rubber band and wrap that little soldier up. See one photo above for the final product.
- Here is the stand in all its glory. Featuring an Italian chef, on a Veitenmease stand, with food inspired by the French when they occupied this nation.
I do love these very much, I get like 2 a day... then the next day I spend an hour at the gym working them off. LOL. Also at 20,000 VND ($1 usd) a meal, $2 bucks for a decent meal is not bad at all.
