Day 893 (Daily Post)
Day 893. The fog has really rolled in pretty heavily this morning and there is a bit of a chill to the humid air as I sit here listening to the birds sing, thinking my ponderous thoughts and slowly sipping my espresso hoping to jostle my mind awake enough to get the morning writing done so that I can get on with my day.
Last night I finally got a full night's sleep without any thunderstorms freaking the dogs out which was nice for both me and the dogs as well because although one night of stormy weather is not all that discomforting (in the not-so-grand scheme of things) several consecutive nights of it is pretty exhausting and left us all feeling a bit more irritable than we usually would be especially since it was thunderstorming a lot during the daytime as well which just exasperated things.
It is looking like there will be more thunderstorms today and tomorrow so hopefully after that we will get a much needed break from it and perhaps even get some sunny days which I could sorely use at this point because my batteries are rather depleted after all my recent consumption combined with very marginal amounts of sunlight other than two days ago when it was sunny all day.
On a different note with all the recent rain the blackberries are looking really plump and hopefully once the sun actually comes out for a few days they will all ripen up rapidly so that I can cook the blackberry flat bread that I keep fantasizing about lately. It seems like such a treat that I just cannot stop thinking about it.
Anyway I am going to wrap this up and get on with my day and hope that I get at least an hour or two of good sun today so that I can at least put a bit of a charge on the batteries. I hope that everyone is doing well and has a nice day/night or something.
Blackberry flatbread sounds amazing! My blackberries are still just flowering. No berries yet.
