Mountain Rudnik

During my short trip to mountain Rudnik (mine), located in central part of Serbia, around 100 km south of Belgrade, I took some photos with my cellphone and it's my pleasure to share them with you.
It's not very high, only 1132 meters, but it dominates over Shumadija area. It is well known since the medieval period and got its name for being rich in mining resources such as copper, lead and silver.
Climbing atop was very physically demanding for me, but for hiking lovers it's just a perfect mountain.
You need at least one hour to get to the top, but as a reward for your efforts, you can see the remains of medieval fortress, on Ostrovica peak.
However, it's not the highest peak, among several peaks, but it's most visited. The highest one is Cvijic's Peak.
On the slopes of the mountain there is a small, picturesque village with an open museum dedicated to miners and mining.
The highest spot I could climb, was the Forest House from where I enjoyed the view while drinking coffee.
