SKYBLOCK.SK Testserver weekend - Join and earn SBI [+25 SBI in prizes]
Hello everyone!
Today, I want to announce some new changes to SKYBLOCK.SK and also a little new contest which is going to happen this weekend from Friday 17:00 - Saturday 22:00 o'clock GMT. I'm really excited about the new changes which improve the security and privacy of players with new flags. If you're interested in the contest, I have more details about that at the end of this post.
If you're new to SkyBlock, it is all about having a very limited number of resources because you start on an isolated little island with almost no resources. From there on, it is the goal to build a big and good looking island, which impresses everyone else.

3. New Features and changes
3.1 New Flags for your island
Do you know these guys who always clog your farming machines with useless stuff? Thanks to these new flags, you can finally disallow other people to drop their stuff on your island to chill out while watching your automatic farm running.
Here are the new flags which you can now use:
- Mob spawning
Sometimes, it is really annoying to have monsters. For example, you want to build a nice big and fancy mob farm but the monsters are already spawning while you're not done. To solve this issue, you can now toggle mob spawning simply off while you're building there.
- Fire spread
Previously, fire spread had been disabled by default globally. You can now toggle fire spread on your island. Got some big trees or a big old wooden house you don't want anymore? Just toggle the flag and let the fun begin! ;)
- Projectile throwing
Egg throwing people are not only an irritating thing in real life but also in Minecraft! The gift of thousands of chicken everywhere can be a little bit overwhelming for some people. If you're one of those who don't like random gifts, you may want to toggle projectile throwing off for other people on your island.
- Dropping of items
I already talked about people who like to clog your stuff up. While it surely must have been a really fun time for those people to clog systems from other people up with rotten flesh and other things, they now have to search for other fun things or clog their own systems up, since you can now disable item drops from other players on your island.
- Elytra flying
Elytra flying is fun. But some people like their privacy and don't want to get visitors to see their super secret farming techniques. For those, there is now a flag to toggle elytra flying on the own island for other people.
As you have read, there have been some issues with people who trolled others which are now hopefully fixed. If you got some other ideas for new flags, let me know below in the comments of this post or on GitHub. Flags are always a really nice tool to allow island owners to give more control over what they want to do and I'm always excited about new Ideas you guys have. =)
3.2 The island center is now detected more efficiently
Some new flags, as an example the mob spawning and also the fire spread flags would have been a problem for the old island center detection. The old and slow island center detection has been replaced by a new and faster one for this reason.
This new process speeds SKYBLOCK.SK up significantly. The contest weekend, which I have announced in the Introduction of this post will be used to audit the new and faster detection system. If you want to see this new system, feel free to join the contest or just set up your own server running SKYBLOCK.SK.
3.3 /island help is now in a book
Instead of spamming your chat up with commands and help messages, a book gets opened which contains all commands as the previous command but also new features:
You can now hover over a command in the book and get not only the benefit of the command but also a description of the command in your selected language, which can help you to understand what the command does.
3.4 The copy tool of custom Armor Stands now stores the Armor Stand data permanently
You may have seen the text on the copy tool of the custom Armor Stands before, where it has been warned that these are not meant to be stored away for a longer period of time. This has now been changed, you can now copy and store your beloved Armor Stands away as long as you want without having to worry about them. Thanks to serialized items and entity data, which is now stored directly in the item itself, you can't lose the copy of the Armor Stand as long as you own the copy tool.
You don't know what you should do with it? Here is a unique idea which opens a completely new business model on servers: Create unique decorations and emotes with Armor Stands and sell them in a store. People will love your store, for sure. =)
But that is not the only opportunity. On creative servers, this could be used to store various armor stands in the ender chest to have them ready to use. There are really many ways on what you can do with these. Here are some examples of what people on @skyroad have created with it in the last week:

6. Contest details
I have seen that people who are really into the game give better feedback and also make use of all the resources they have. To make this more interesting than just playing for fun, I want to give you guys 20 SBI distributed in a pool and 1 SBI for everyone who participates on top of that. To get a share of this prize pool or a bonus on top as a participant, you can join the test server join.skyroad.me with Minecraft Java Edition 1.13.2, type in /testserver and start your island with /island create. Then, you can build your island, the higher your island level is, the higher your share will be on the prize pool. You can calculate your island level using /island calc. The bonus for participating will be given to everyone* who created an island. *Limited to 100 participants.
While I give these rewards only for playing the game, I really hope that you guys also give me some feedback about how you like the game so far, because this feedback is very important for me in the future to fix issues which I haven't noticed yet.

Many of my posts have something to do with contests and I know that it isn't well accepted to make advertisements for services on utopian contributions but I tried to make it informative for users of SKYBLOCK.SK and offer a nice opportunity for Steemians on here. This would be a better sentence: " If you're one of those who don't like random gifts"
This sentence should read: "This has now been changed, you can now copy and store your beloved Armor Stands away as long as you want without having to worry about them. "

Hey! These events seem to be so nice and fun based on the description. I have never played Minecraft though. Could you please suggest me where to start and how much knowledge I would need to participate?

There is no real knowledge needed. Minecraft is a sandbox building game where you can build your own things. SKYBLOCK.SK gives a extra challenge but is pretty similar as playing Minecraft.
If you already have played some 3 dimensional games on the computer, you should be good to go.
