Reasons That Steemit Makes Me Smile #1: Community Spirit

in #steemit7 years ago

I joined Steemit how many days ago...?

....Okay 15 days ago... I just had to look it up. It feels like so much longer than that, does anyone else feel that way? haha

I originally did join Steemit because my husband told me about it as a cool way to earn money

And obviously it is nice to receive the upvotes and the dollars on your post, especially when you worked hard on taking the time to write it, Steemit definitely does require a lot more effort than anything like Facebook or Instagram.

However, one thing that I wasn't expecting was to meet so many people that I could connect with, have great conversations with and be uplifted by as well. Steemit definitely has made me smile everyday since I joined!

It has been great to connect with other people who were just starting out at the same time as me, and all learn the ropes together and pass hints and tips on to each other as we go, like with my friends @vinnu, @princessmewmew, @andyluy and @dontstopmenow.

What can we as individuals contribute to the Steemit community?

I have loved when I have been able to contribute anything of value, like when I made a post for my fellow Australians on how they can put their Steemit money into their Aussie bank account. It was an awesome feeling to see people write in the comments about how I have helped them do something.

Unfortunately, with that post I did have one fellow Steemian who accidentally forgot to put the memo in when he was trying to transfer the money, and I felt so bad for him because he said his wife was going to angry at him for messing it up!

But I was so happy today when he reached out to me to let me know that he had emailed Living Room of Satoshi, and they had transferred his funds to him.

It really was a reminder to me that we all have something of value that we can contribute to others, and not just financially in terms of our upvote.

We are all unique and different, and every person has something they can pass on to others. You can help support others and add value by writing your own posts and also just by being supportive in the comments on others posts. I love that Steemit is such a positive place, and it is great that we all have the ability to uplift one another, and make each other smile.

Speaking of community, I also recently discovered the group @teamaustralia and was excited to find so many other aussie steemians, and @bearone customised a little footer for me which I can now put on the bottom of my posts! I also persuaded my mum @cyclingchef to join steemit, and my dog @dogwithablog, so if you are looking for new people to follow, please go and check them out!

Have you guys experienced some good vibes during your time here on Steemit? 😍 Let me know your experiences in the comments!!

thanks so much, happy weekend to you @artedellavita hope its a good one :)

Such an interesting post to read and even though I have only been on here a few days I can relate to what you are saying about the sense of community on here

In fact I just before coming across your post said the exact thing on a comment to someone else,, I still do not understand Steem Steem Dollars vests and all the other terminology here and know I will with time, but for me. That is not important at all, I am just so enjoying the sense of community and support I have seen so prevalent on here and never to this level on any other site I have been on

Sorry this was meant to be a short comment, I am not normally big on long text in my post my way of expressing myself is generally my photos but here I go doing it again LOL

So will finish off with thanks for such an interesting and inspiring post

thanks so much @tattoodjay for your lovely words :)
I didn't understand anything at all about steem or steem dollars when I first started here 2 weeks ago, you will pick that up as you go, but yeah as you said most important thing is all the positivity and support on here :)
It doesnt come close to facebook or anywhere else.
Welcome to Steemit, I hope you enjoy it here, and stay for the long term :)

Thanks I am fairly confident I will enjoy it and be here for a long time :) Looking forward to seeing more of your posts :)

Impressive use of markup and quality writing, for only 15 days on Steem!

thankyou so much @mrsullivan I am lucky to have found many helpful posts on here, steep learning curve but I am learning :)

Well said! And yes, I have found nothing but positiveness here. It has been refreshing. Though I have a nice following of really great people on youtube, there are always those haters that have to come in from where ever and just be cruel for no reason other than their own enjoyment. It is nice to not see that here, at least from what I have witnessed.

hey @raincountry! thank you :) absolutely, so positive here :) Whats your name on youtube? I do watch a few people on there and have to agree with you there are so many cruel comments and 'trolls' on youtube - you wont find anything like that on Steemit!! love it here :)

Same name as here, just with a space: Rain Country. Used to be Rain Country Homestead but I took that last word off so as to not stay pigeon holed under one specific thing. Besides, it is simpler that way :)

ah okay awesome, I will check you out on Youtube ;)

amazing! My boyfriend was also the one who introduced me to steemit! I upvoted your post and hope you can keep growing here. :)

thank you @roxameli :) Haha it's good that our boys brought us here :) Hope you keep growing here too thanks a lot :)

I've been looking to your posts as a good format of how to lay things out. You're quite good at formatting and making your information pop.

thank you @haushinka, i try to keep the text formatted in a way that its not boring to look at :)

Yeah it's more work than it looks. Thanks for the influence. You have a knack for it. I will be following along.
