Something from my bar whenever I feel like it episode DLIII

in #blog7 years ago

Another mystery for today's liquor bottle. This is an old Hiram Walker Chocolate Mint bottle. Doesn't even really sound good. At least not to me. It looks like a standard bottle. Has 2 drink recipes on the back. Nothing really special there. If you look closely though you will see at the bottom that this isn't a fifth like most bottles but 3/4 quart. Figured that would make this an older bottle from before fifths and their metric equivalent sized (750 ml I think) bottles became standard. Checking the bottom of the bottle for any clue I saw the number 58. I would guess that means the bottle was made in 1958. Can't be sure of that though. Doubt it was made in 18. No it's not an 81 the 8 would be upside down if it were. I tried searching for another bottle like this one but all I came up with were miniature versions of it in salt and pepper shakers. Although it looks full the bottle is just that creme color. It's only about 1/4 full. Not sure if it was drank, evaporated, or what. Not that it really matters. Being that old and low alcohol by volume it most likely is bad.

Don't even know if they make this anymore. If they do a liquor store with a good selection.
