Steemwallet Is Live—Check It Out Now!

Finally we've got an excellent app for our mobile phones for monitoring Steem-account transactions but more importantly safely sending and receiving STEEM and SBDs. @roelandp gets the credit for building this app which seems to work beautifully so far!

I wanted to take this opportunity to highlight this development to my readers, especially all the amazing Steemians from India. Many users from India tend to log-into their mobile browsers with their masterkeys for transactions. You can avoid all that now and use this app with your active key. We must download it and give it a test run!

Personally I'm quite pleased with it's encryption. The fact that you need to compulsorily use a difficult passphrase before creating the wallet file. But here there isn't a risk of forgetting your passphrase as you can simply reinstall the app and complete the steps to gain access to the wallet again.

I'm also happy report that the Touch ID and Face ID options are a great way to retrieve your passphrase. It makes it easy to sign the operation of sending tokens. I recommend using this feature!

Another very important fact is that there isn't any tracking software used and analytics is disabled. From my standpoint these are good features that were needed in a mobile wallet for STEEM cryptocurrency. It worked super fast on my S8+ so I'm sure it'll run just as fast on slower devices.

Importing your key is very easy because you can simply scan a QR code with the built-in scanner. You can either scan the QR code from the permissions page on your Steemit.com wallet or make a QR code out of your active key and then scan that. You can also receive funds by creating a QR code for receiving as well.

It's a fast, secure and open source app so I expect to see other iterations in the future. The complete list of features and other information is listed on Roeland's post on the Steemwallet and I highly recommend everyone to give it a read to best understand all its features.
