FOR BETTER FOR WORSE
In life, it is every woman's dream to marry and live a happy life till death. Many say marriage is the greatest career a woman could ever have while others sees it as hell.
Few minutes ago, there was this lady who passed by at our office and through conversations this marriage thing came up.
With her, she said boldly that marriage to her is like finished. She continued that, it's boring for someone to link herself sexually to one partner in her early years and continue with that same person for the rest of her life.
And that she is with this partner now that she likes, but she doesn't want to marry him.
Tho this partner of hers is not her first love and won't be her last either. But she might only be forced to marry if she decides to give birth. But till then she doesn't want get married.
After listening to all she said, I asked why she sees marriage that way, and she added that, while growing up as a kid; she never saw happiness between his mom and dad. Mom was always not in a happy mood as a wife, she always had to worry all the time.
After I listened to her grounds, all I remember was taking a deep breath and saying
Well pretty, you're not wrong at all with all you said, and the grounds you want to take. But there are so many happy marriages out there and you can be happier than them.
These couples are happy with each other to the extend that nothing can be used to bring loneliness or sadness between them.
And if she wants to enjoy the happiness of life before and after marriage, she should let go of all that happened between her parents and start giving room for her to be loved by someone.
Marriages gets bad because there is no commitments, permanence and depth that comes from total sharing. Happiness in marriage is not found by waving wands but the couples must fight and work for it. Marriage is never hell but a privilege.
When you take time and effort to make marriage a good one, the rewards are always numerous.
