Quick Tidbits and Take-aways About Capricorn

Capricorn, along with Virgo and Taurus, are the Earth signs of the Zodiac. Earth signs are the builders and stabilizers of society. They are interested in assembling and acquiring things that are meant to last.

Defining Capricorn

More than the other signs in the Zodiac, Earth signs enjoy the challenges and pleasures of physical life. They like to work with things that appeal to their five physical senses -- things they can point to ... and see and touch. They also like to collect things. Being surrounded by their favorite possessions or items that bring them comfort and pleasure is a big part of the material experience for them.

When you think of Earth sign qualities, think of things to do with durability and permanence. These people are solid citizens, pillars of their community. They live by their own special codes of excellence -- standards we would all do well to emulate. They step up when asked ... and take responsibility for themselves, their actions and their own progress in life.

They have a sense of duty to their families, loved ones, friend, colleagues and community that is almost militaristic in its devotion. These are people you can lean on, depend on, and turn to in a crisis. They know how to deal with emergencies -- and can be your own safe harbor in life's terrible storms.

When you call on them in a crisis, they don't offer excuses or judgments or empty platitudes. They show up and help. Without their spirit down through the ages, human life itself on Earth might not have survived.

Are you a Capricorn?
A Prediction for the Coming Year

This year, in working with relationships and other people, you may prefer your beautiful fantasies of ideal love and cooperation to the harshness of real life where people make mistakes, fail to make the right gestures, get bogged down in petty problems and attitudes, and the insurance payments go overdue.

Also, with your ability to see the divinity in all souls, you can get involved with people who simply can't return the love you want because of their own emotional damage or lack of depth. That still makes love pretty much a one-way street though for you.

You can find yourself attracted to people who desperately need love and its healing, and you are a terrific source to provide that -- at least this year, but the relationship never becomes the two-way exchange you want. Or, you may be the one with serious emotional and relationship problems, the one who needs to learn hard lessons about the real role of love in life.

Even if you're not a Capricorn ---> This theme is at work somewhere in your life -- affecting a very specific area of concern rather than "life in general." With Astrology, it's possible to know what's happening in your life and work with the prevailing energies to make the most of this special time and its opportunities.

Morsels for Your Mind

  • What does the concept of partnership mean to you? Is it theoretically a 50 / 50 arrangement? Or do you see that most relationships / partnerships are lop-sided -- sometimes seriously so -- with one person supporting it more than the other ... or with the partners trading that "extra support" back and forth between them?

  • What do the relationships in your life look like? Are they pretty much equal in terms of give-and-take? Does one person provide more than the other ... most of the time? Is there a way to rebalance and realign them when they become seriously unfair? Have you done that lately?

  • Are you usually satisfied with your friendships and alliances? Or do you wind up feeling disappointed and let down? Or worse, unappreciated and "used?" Are you usually the "giver" or the "taker" in your associations? Do you offer support and encouragement, opportunities and assets to the other person -- regularly? Or are you the person who usually needs help and bolstering?

What does Capricorn mean to you?

Everyone has Capricorn energy operating somewhere in his life, influencing his character and attitudes and giving him the experiences that will develop his Capricorn skills ... regardless of his actual Sun Sign. Astrologers and students of Astrology know this, but it's not common knowledge for most people.

So, do you know where this is happening for you? Do you know how this affects your character? Do you know the advantages it offers in at least one specific set of important life interests?

There's a lot Astrology can teach you about your approach to life, your natural skills and challenges and the way you were designed to operate. For a tidbit of insight about how you were built to use Capricorn energy, upvote this post and leave your birth data as a comment below. (Day, month, year, place and time if you know it.) Sorry, you really do have to be honest here, otherwise what you get will be useless.

Thank you for stopping by!

If you've always known there was more to Astrology than Sun Sign material and the three line daily horoscope in the newspaper, climb aboard and follow this blog. You'll find a world of wisdom detailing how you were designed to work with life ... and why you are the way you are -- all in quick-to-read, easy-to-digest-and-remember, written-in-plain-English essays that offer plenty of food for thought.

Little by little, I'm doing a set of articles that talks about all the elements in your horoscope and what they have to say about you. If you "know something" about Astrology -- or know something about your chart placements, that will help you get more from this material.

If you don't ... well, this is one place you can learn. We all have to start somewhere ... because we aren't born knowing this stuff. Meanwhile, if you've never seen your horoscope ... and don't have a clue how to work with it, maybe it's time to find out. There are lots of "chart services" on the internet -- some of whom produce decent, readable charts "for free" and some are so awful and confusing that even I can't read them easily -- and I've worked with charts for decades.

One extremely user-friendly chart site is here: AstroLabe I recommend them if you want a simple, easy-to-read chart. I think they even give a reasonable little interpretive reading of your horoscope as part of the package. You'll need to know your birth information -- day, month, year, time and geographical place. Without all that your chart will have limited accuracy.

Or, if you want to get serious and really talk about this, upvote this post and start a conversation in the comments section sometime in the next six days from the time of publication. We'll go from there depending on what you want to know.

Questions about any of this? -- Upvote this post and talk to me in comments. It's a terrific way to build value for yourself and the community ... and it will give me ideas of what to write about in future posts. Believe me there is lots to say about the way The Sun, The Moon -- and all the other elements in a horoscope, all the other components of Astrology -- work together to interpret you and your story -- and what it all means to the person you've become.

This is who I am.

About the art in our visual essays ...

Although sometimes the background pictures in our visual essays support the topic and text, they don't always. Sometimes the connection is clear. Sometimes it's symbolic and subtle. Sometimes, there's no connection at all.

The scenes depict landscapes and natural features, buildings and wildlife. They were chosen because they show something lovely or interesting ... or simply because the photo appealed to me.

Our spectacular and remarkable planet is changing at astonishing speed. Rarely are these changes for the better. Few people seem to know ... or care ... or have the will and power to do anything about this. It may not be long before the world humans have known and lived in for centuries is forever lost. We certainly won't be able to make repairs as fast as we destroyed it.

So a few years ago I began collecting pictures of the way things were ... and still are for now, a record of the beauty we have while it is still ours to love and honor.

The photos here are part of that collection, with sincere thanks to the artists who saw these moments ... and with their cameras ... preserved them. All of us at Enchanted Spirit are profoundly grateful to them for their generosity and skill ... and for the added grace, depth and dimension their art brings to ours.
