Venus opposing Jupiter

There's a Venus / Jupiter opposition in the sky right now that may manage to break through all the other mess we're dealing with ... although it could also be overshadowed. So I'll mention is just to give it some strength and attention -- and so, if you need to, you can look for it.

This is an extremely self-indulgent energy, so it's entirely likely you'll decide you deserve a few extra treats to make up for all the crap you're having to handle.

You do have to try to keep a lid on it though. Otherwise, overeating and overspending are real dangers. This energy carries such a lack of self-discipline and motivation it amounts to laziness. Since it only comes around about once a year and it doesn't last long, you can probably afford that. So go ahead and be good to yourself. Snack, shop, relax.

Try to at least keep an eye on your credit card spending and your waistline. (Ok, well, I did say try.) It may not work, but you'll get E for Effort. Socializing may appeal as one of the things you enjoy -- but the emphasis now is on "enjoyment."

If this hits at a bad time because you've got lots of work to do -- and finish, you may have to make some arrangements with yourself, your employer, your clients ... whatever.

Don't just skip over this because it's inconvenient though. It arrives for a reason -- and the reason is you need a vacation!! Your Inner Kid won't like it if you screw him over completely ... so do pay attention. Shafting him (or her) is a mistake, if you haven't learned that already. So if you have to make promises for "later," be sure you keep them.

Venus square Neptune

When Venus and Neptune come together, we're involved with some very predictable life areas: your relationships, your financial situation, your creative imagination and your spiritual principles. Squares, however, are problematic. This one suggests you're dealing with self-esteem issues that affect how loveable or how worthy you consider yourself.

If you're having problems with your real life relationships or if you're worried about your finances (and who isn't these days?), this one calls your value as a person into question -- in very insistent but unfortunate ways. A wounded self-image isn't apt to make you more attractive and it sure can play havoc with your ability to make good decisions.

This energy prompts you to daydream about better days, better partnerships, fantasy lovers, a highly idealized romantic arrangement -- and a far more affluent lifestyle. Given the square's mesmerizing power, you won't see (or care about) the obvious holes in your logic if you try to apply your fantasy life to the real world. The dream is beautiful and satisfying enough you want to lose yourself in it -- and likely you will.

The comparatively ugly structures of reality though can be harsh and disappointing. It can leave you open to mistreatment or manipulation by someone who "sees you coming" -- and manages to play into your desires enough to get your attention. The fact is, they may be as deluded and needy as you are at the moment -- or their motives may be more sinister and underhanded.

Beware of being used, exploited or even swindled while you're in this state -- and while this energy is around. Those are all real possibilities -- because you're so desperate and needy -- and because the enticements are so attractive (until they aren't -- when you learn what's really behind them.)
