How do you say………

I’m not sure what to call it exactly. We’ve spent 2 trips to the Home Depot paint department over the past 2 days trying to figure out what was done wrong with the paint we had mixed. Long and short 1st gallon of house stain was great. One of the sample cans we purchased to decide the trim color was great. The wood shed was done. It looks awesome. So, last week, we went back to have another gallon of house stain mixed and a gallon of the selected trim stain mixed. Trim stain was opened and as I was looking at it as I’d been at work when @silvertop did it, I kept thinking it didn’t look the same. I got to looking at the can formula label to discover the colorant mix wasn’t the same. Not quantity-but actual paint colorant additives. Thus, @silvertop looked at the gallon for the house to discover it too did not match the first gallon colorant additives.

Yesterday, we took the siding stain back explaining and they agreed it was a mixing error and remixed a new gallon. All was well.

After much deliberation, we decided we shouldn’t have to compromise what we wanted because of an associate’s mistake, although we’d used about 8 ounces of the trim gallon. After going through the database, the same gal that helped us yesterday, was able to determine what the one guy did wrong. He chose one color for our sample that we liked and then chose another paint formula for the gallon with the same name, but a different formulation. He didn’t check his work. Unfortunately, we didn’t think we had to. However now, going forward, we have multiple copies of the correct formulas for both stains and will take a hard copy with us in the future. We also will not allow the associate who made the mistake, to mix for us. You see, he originally didn’t want the first hard copy of the house stain picture with the formula on it. I think he just didn’t bother to even look at it when he mixed. People!

Backing up to the morning-it was slated for, and was in fact, a scorcher of a day. We don’t hit the 90’s in May!! I needed to water all my garden and @silvertop needed to water the 50 pine trees he planted a few weeks ago. This requires us to haul water as there is no outside spigot unfortunately. It was an arduous process but we both got it done!

Our new waterbed mattress has finally arrived! We are currently draining the old one. It will be nice to sleep in a waterbed again soon.

The only eye candy I have for today is of Cot as he visits dreamland.
