ntopaz-image-0# A new Singularity sketch based off one of my black and white drawings.

The piece without the Steemit crop:

In August of this year I had made this black and white drawing in my Singularity Study.

I was quite happy with it and consider it a done piece.

However, yesterday I was gowing through my folders and upon seeing it thought I'd like to draw it again and play with it a bit.

I made her other arm robotic in a new way and decided to remove the helmet and have an opening into some gears in her forehead. I also wanted her peasant style blouse to fall down a bit more on her more 'android' side of her 'womanhood'.

I will add watercolour next to the study and then decide which direction to go.

Going through my images I also found these two photos from last year on the same date of my Paperwhites blooming at Toad Hall.

Last year I made the decision to stay at Toad Hall over the Winter instead of going to the UK. A decision I regretted once January hit and we had the worst snow and ice and wind storms in 25 years. I had made a few posts in between power outages and we were very much snowed in that Winter. So, these paper whites were a good moment of joy before that happened.

This year, on the same day, I am happily in England.

And of a morning, such as today, it often feels like Spring or Mid April back in NEW England.
Early this morning, the fog was lifting off the garden and you can see the flowers outside the french doors in my little studio off my bedroom here.

The fog was rising and the air smelled of Spring.

I have yet to plant these pansy and forget me knots, but I just bought them the other day at our weekly farmer's market.

It is a gardener's dream to buy and plant things in December knowing they will continue to bloom and grow through the Winter.

The day continued to warm and the sun shone bright. We took a nice long new ramble with Ivan the dog and discovered another great cafe in our area.

It was like magic coming upon it as it was literally stuck in the middle of a vast field surrounded by farm buildings and orchards.

There were many bikers there, so I can imagine it must be a place people who love to cycle know about. It's wonderful that it is along one of our many foot paths we can easily take from our village.

It is even a bit swish and very industrial chic. My coffee was AMAZING and came in this hand made pottery vessel with their name stamped in.

As is usual for most places round here, it is definitely pet friendly.

Ivan posing and eyeing up my cappuccino unaware of the cool and hip light fixture behind him made from an old petrol can.

I will be coming here more regularly now to work so I will share more of the decor in another post.

It has been a lovely and quiet Christmas eve. Now I will take the rest of the day to do more week and think upon the coming new year. I have to prepare my one to two sentence New Year's Art Resolution, which I try to do to give me the focus for the coming new year. I'll share that as well, once I have figured it out of course.

I hope all of you are having a lovely day today, on this Christmas Eve, and that you are with family or friends for the coming celebratory day.

Please feel free to upvote, resteem, and by all means leave a comment.

Oh, what a lovely Singularity lady ! And will you watercolour this one, Donna??? That would be something to see <3 I can't wait :)

Your paperwhites are so pretty ! And your garden looks so... English <3 That cold but beautiful look from beyond the french door * ___ *....

It is amazing that you are discovering so many great cafes ! I am super jealous :D

Nice sketch @donnadavisart!
I hope you continue having a nice holiday in England 😉

Thank you @melooo182 I shall try :) Hope you had a wonderful Christmas.

Aaah the post looks much better on steemit, even an Inked version of the initial sketch oooh ....so much info not shown on nTopaz :(

Yep I did have a really nice Christmas eve and day!
😉 Thank you Donna!

I love the sketch.

That's the best shop yet. My kind of place!

The best ex Mrs. BigT used to plant a bowl of paperwhites every year so we wouldn't go completely crazy in the winter. She also had two Christmas Cactus that I'd drag all over the house to get the best sun for.

I thought of you today on my walk with Sam. We have about 75F right now, it was low to mid 60s when we started. Just a perfect early summer day in England or New England, either one.

Merry Christmas to you Donna!

It is pretty cool @bigtom13. I think cyclists must have seen it written up somewhere as it is heavily themed with bicycles hanging everywhere and many people, on their bicycles, were arriving. It was sort of surreal as it has a very cool hop urban fell inside, but quite literally is in a lovely field of orchards and old farm buildings. It will be one of my new 'work places' to walk to and Steem :)

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas.

This is quite a story that goes well beyond the lead image! Enough material for 5 posts or more!
Just wondering: what is "Toad Hall"? I know it only from Wind in the Willows - so is there a actual place that took that name? I did set designs for the Toad Hall episode, played at Christmas several times at my old Alma Mater.

Oh, Toad Hall, my home in the USA is named AFTER the wind in the willows because when we inherited (or our turn to live there) we were reading it so we named it Toad Hall. It's on the ocean not a riverway like in Wind in the Willows though :)
