Devil Gundam: Detailing Scratch Build Knee [Leg Modification - Part 67]

in #gunplajagatraya8 years ago
Hi guys!

Today I will clean up yesterday's work and add the last pla plates on the top of the knee. So here are updates on Project Devil Gundam!

Progress Test Fit

Here is how the knee should sit on the bottom leg later. I think this height should good enough.

Note that the pla plate details have been tested and simulated so that they won't hinder each other.

And so far the details look good on the knee. Now that I've started the details on this kit. The rest of the kit should have the same amount of details on them to keep the proportion right.

Different Angle

Here is how it looks from the front. So far my plan for the articulation progressing quite well.

Next I will need to attach the front knee and the end part of the piston and the new articulation for the bottom leg should be complete.

And with detachable piston and knee painting will be a lot easier.

Trimming Excess Pla Plates

Now to finish this modification I just file down the excess pla plates until the surface is smooth. Then clean up the sides using file since my sanding stick is too big for that small space.

Progress Test Fit

Here is the final look on both knees with the thigh and waist. Next I will connect the knee to the bottom leg.

I will need to scratch build a mechanism on the bottom leg which will connect with the knee.

Having scratch build quite a lot of now I can already imagine what should I build this time. This is going to be a simple and straight forward build.

However, just like the knee I think I will detail this one too. And so this is my updates for today on this Devil Gundam x Neue Ziel Project.

Keep on building! Keep on steeming! Have a nice day!

Quick access tutorial:

  1. Fixing broken peg using gunpla runer and several tools.
  2. Fixing holes using cement and plastic scraps.
  3. Making C-Joints using pla plates.
