Zimbabwe tour of Sri Lanka

  • It's a series including, 3 T20Is, and 3 ODI. Anyway, the first ODI was washed out without a result. Sri Lanka batting first, scored 273/9 with an amazing hundred from Asalanka. But the match was interrupted and called off just after 4 overs in the chase.

  • Sri Lanka opted to ball first in the second match. Well, to be honest, once there were no threats at all for Sri Lanka when playing Zimbabwe. But times have changed and Sri Lankan Cricket has been to hell. In Premadasa stadium in Colombo, the seats were empty. Fans have moved away not just for the losses, but as players are not committed to their best for the country.

  • Anyway, Zimbabwe's batting first managed to score just 208 runs way below the par score, courtesy of Sri Lankan ballers. The Sri Lankan rising star Dilshan Madhushanka once again started with a first-over wicket. Chameera, Vandersay contributed with 2 wickets and Theekshana came up with 4 wickets.

  • Well, this target in their home country would have been easy for any other country other than Sri Lanka. First over wicket followed by other 3 inside 15 overs for just 50 runs for the same baller, Ngarava. He was on fire taking a fifer. Sri Lanka was in big trouble after 30 overs for 112/6. Janith Liyanage held his nerve with the ballers. His 56-run stand with Theekshana regained the hope. But both fell out for 172/8 still needing 37 runs. Zimbabwe fought hard, but Vandersay and Chameera took Sri Lanka home batting better than so-called batters.

BBL

  • Well, it's been an action-packed tournament so far. Even though many Australian national players were in the Test series, there was no lack of talent. They were just awesome in all the departments.

  • After 32 matches out of 40 in the first round, Brisbane Heat have already sealed their spot in the playoffs with 7 wins, while Melbourne Renegades are out of the race. So, the other 6 teams are in a hurry to be in the top 04.

The highest run-scorers

  • Well, some talents in the tournament are a treat to watch. The all-rounders Short and Hardie are continuously doing it and they got a national call for the upcoming WI series. And surprisingly still there are no hundreds, it's more like a collective effort from everyone.

The highest Wicket-takers

  • Well, the Heat's success is with their balling strength with the inclusion of Bartlet, Johnson, Swepson, and Kuhnemenn who are in a really good touch. And the all-rounders like Walter, and Neser are on fire in the tournament.
