The Story Of Actifit And Me – October 2018

Introduction

October has been an active month for the Actifit project, and for me. A lot of things have happened in the past month. The Actifit app has made some big changes. The project is now well established on the STEEM blockchain and continues to grow over time.

I’ve been using the app since its beginnings back in July. I walk to work, and the app is my companion on the way. Also, I use it for weekend activities, like hiking. Actifit is rewarding and motivates me to stay active.

App updates

Before October, I was under the impression that Actifit has done its major updates. The iOS app was launched back in September and some other updates were made as well. Now there will be a period of time with no updates, or just some small ones. Boy I was wrong. October was the month with the biggest changes. I will try in short to summarize them here.

New reward system

Starting from 6th of October Actifit introduced the new reward system. Here is the announcement post Announcing Actifit V2 Reward System: Activity, content, engagement, user ranks, delegation, moderation and more.

This new system introduced a couple of new things. The rewarded tokens and upvote from Actifit is no longer dependent only from the activity. It is mix from several factors:

• Activity
• User Rank
• Content & Moderation
• Community Engagement

As we can see beside the activity, there is the user rank, the content of the post and engagement. The content of the post and the engagement are clear. Posts with reach content, nice photos and comments, will get bigger upvotes. The interesting thing here is the user rank.

User rank

Actifit came up with a user rank system starting from 0 to 100. Nice range I would say, and no need to go into the decimals. The factors determining the user rank are the following:

• Delegation
• Accumulated AFIT Tokens
• Rewarded Post Count
• Recent Rewarded Activity

Actifit want to grow in delegation, so it is understandable that delegation is one of the factors determining the user rank. It is a nice incentive for the user to delegate. The second thing is the accumulated tokens. This is interesting. It incentivises the users to hold the tokens. The last two factors consider the total reward posts per user, and the recent activities. This is rewarding loyalty, but not just that. If you are a new active user, the last factor takes that into consideration.

I think that they have made a great job with this. They are stimulating the users to buy and hold Actifit tokens and rewarding their activities at the same time. This can bring up the value of the tokens, and that is a good thing for the users as well.

I use my alt account for Actifit @dalzphoto, and my user rank was 39,5 trough October, but it dropped to 35,5 a couple of days ago. This is not close to 100 and doesn’t look like a high rank. But what I noticed from the reports of the users, is that this is actually a high user rank. At the moment only, a couple of users that are posting have user rank more than 40. So Actifit has made it hard to get to 100 user rank.

Another big update that came in the past month was the option to upload a photo from the app. This was one of the most expected updated from the community. Everybody wants to put a photo on their report. Now it is possible. This functionality was introduced staring from 25 of October. Here is the post. Users can upload more than one image and take a photo from the app as well. I use this, and I find it very useful. Before I was going and editing the post from the web, uploading an image.

AFIT Tokens pricing and supply

One more interesting thing they have announced with this post is pricing of the Actifit tokens. The are projecting a price of 0,125 for May 2019. Now the users can decide to “buy” tokens with they actifit report card. There is an option in the app - Maximize AFIT tokens earnings, and if you tick the box, instead of steem you will be awarded with AFIT tokens. They are offering discounts at the moment, starting from 0,05$ per token, and gradually increasing the price each month, until it reaches 0,125 in May 2019.

Prices are always a sensitive topic. The Actifit team has shown great confidence to come up with tokens pricing this early in the project, and before the release of SMT.

The total supply of the AFIT tokens will be 2.1 Billion tokens, of which around 11,3 millions of AFIT tokens have been rewarded in this moment.
Having a cap on the tokens this early in the project, is a nice thing.

Actifit Witness

In the past month Actifit become a STEEM witness. This just confirms their dedication for the steem blockchain. I have given them my support and voted them for witness with my humble SP. The last update from them is that they are improving their position and are ranked around 130 at the moment.

Some of the other things that Actifit has done in the previous month is integrating the functionality for automatic win. This is for the early birds and hard core users. If you made 10k steps before 10 in the morning you get additional reward.
They have been fighting abuse as well, and they had banned 130 users.

My activities in October

The actifit team has done its job. That’s for sure. Let’s see haw I performed the last month in terms of activities.

With the help of the app I’m tracking my activities for each day. I collect the data and follow how I’m doing. Also, I compered it with previous months. This keeps me motivated.

Here are my stats for October 2018.

Actifit rewards its users for minimum of 5000 steps, and the maximum is more than a 10000. The dark lines on the chart represent this numbers.

I’m satisfied how I performed this month. This is my best month yet. From 31 days I have 27 days with a minimum of 5k steps and 4 days without the minimum of 5k steps. This includes the days when I forgot to post. I have forgotten to post only ones this month, meaning I’m improving there as well. Previous months I was forgetting more.

My goal was to have at least 25 days with minimum activity of 5k. So, I have achieved this goal in October. Bravo to me 😊.

Surprisingly the weather in October was amazing. It was not cold at all, and it was hotter that usual for this period of the year. This contributed to my activities. Here are some photos from the autumn in my city and the park.

Comparing my results with the previous month

Benchmarking is always a good method 😊. Here it is.

When comparing my results with the previous month, I can see that I have done better. The total number of moves was October is 352k, and in September 324k. I feel that I have already increased my activities and will be hard to improve from here. Maintain a 350k steps per months will be a good thing.

Now the winter is coming, and I hope I will not drop with my activities. November is not that cold, so I hope will do well.

Actifit Tokens

Actifit tokens can be earned from activities and delegation. Also, they reward one token for voting users report card.

I earn tokens from activities and form delegation. I have made a small delegation of 100 SP and increased it to 125 SP this month. The incentive from the new rewarding system is obviously working on me 😊.

We can see a sharp drop after the new rewarding system was put in place. Before, earning 100 tokens per post was easy. You just need to have more than 10k moves. Now it is almost impossible. Earning 50 tokens per post is great achievement now. The harder is to earn the tokens, the more valuable they are.

In the last month I have earned a total od 1253 tokens from activities. Comparing this to the previous month when I earned a total of 1775, I have earned less. This is because of the new rewarding system.

A small rise at the end of the month, when I increased my delegation, from 100 to 125 SP. Actifit rewards the delegators with 1:1 ratio daily, until the delegations reach 100k SP. After that they allocate the tokes proportionally. Actifit now have around 160k delegated SP, and the ratio SP:AFIT is around 1:0,65. As more and more delegations are made, the harder it will get to earn AFIT tokens. And this trend will likely continue. Also, this month we have seen a drop in the tokens being rewarded for activities. With this Actifit is making the token more valuable over time.
