Welcome to my 7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - North American Friday - where the winner of the weekly round will be able to participate for the total of 200 SBD!
Today, you can participate by submitting your personal pictures from your travels to the continent of North America.

Basin Mt. California. Basin mountain sits proudly in the Sierra Nevada of California. Here covered in snow is a beautiful site, especially on a day with snow on the way (see the clouds). Enjoy the view and best viewed in sepia.

Your entries need to be submitted by 8 AM Central European Time in order to be considered for the challenge with a description of approximately 30 to 50 words. Only use of personal images will be accepted and only one picture can be submitted for a daily photo challenge. Ten winning photos will receive a bigger upvote from me and ten runners-up will get a smaller one.
Chosen from the ten winning entries, the absolute winner of the day will receive extended publicity in my post tomorrow morning. I will also visit his/her blog to upvote one of the most recent posts. The winning picture of the daily challenge will then automatically enter other rounds with the absolute winner gaining approximately 200 SBD in total.

Battle of Gods. Insanely colorful stormy sunset at Tel-Aviv shot in February few years ago. The main beach of Tel-Avis was just splashed by the warm colors of the dawning sun, well mixed with overall cold blue colors

This photo was taken a few years ago during a hike up to Roys Peak near Wanaka in New Zealand. The weather was very dynamic and provided some interesting play of light and shadow. I oped for a black and white here to emphasise those nice contrasts.

For today’s African photo there is one of my favorite shots from that continent. I don’t know exactly why, but I simply like it. We can see cohesion of flora and fauna there. Big African elephant walking through the horde of impalas those graze in savannah.

Together with Segovia and Avila, Toledo is one of three amazing, historical cities that you can reach very fast and easily from Madrid by train, within a day trip. The old town, that was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1986 for its extensive monumental and cultural heritage, is located on top of a hill, surrounded on three sides by a bend in the Tagus River.

I know this is somewhat unusual entry for this contest but let me explain :) The Day of the Dead (Dia de los Muertos), one of the most popular Mexican holidays, is just around the corner and the Mexicans love their skulls, skeletons and other spooky stuff that you can find pretty much everywhere these days. These traditional painted ceramic skulls are known as “calaveras” in Spanish. I took this photo in a street souvenir shop in Playa del Carmen.
That is a very colorful photo! Thank you so much for our entry.
Yosemite National Park
It's been over two years now that we finished our 4 week honeymoon in the western part of the USA. Yosemite NP was one of the hightlights for sure. Great trails and hikes, so much to explore and an incredible Airbnb stay at Susan's home in Oakhurst. Expected many, many tourists but I still think it's worth going if in the area.

Mesa Verde National Park
Mesa Verde National Park in Southwest Colorado, will blow your mind. The ancient Pueblo people lived in this area for about 700 years and the national park protects around 600 cliff dwellings. If you end up at this park, @suitcasemama and I would strongly recommend that you attend one of the ranger-lead walks, probably one of our most memorable national park experiences.
I also was very impressed by this National Park. It was very interessting to hear how the people lived back then. Here you can read about our visit
Great post! I'm glad you enjoyed the park and sounds like you went on a ranger led walk, cool. I love how you're still able to crawl through the ruins and explore. I remember going as a kid, but it was no less cool when I went a few years ago as an adult!
That sure looks like an amazing place to explore!
Brooklyn Bridge in New York City
This 1833,68 m long bridge was built in 1883 and is connecting Manhatten with Brooklyn. We recommend to cross the Hudson river on the Manhatten Bridge (the bridge in the back) and go back to NYC via the Brooklyn Bridge.

Street in Santiago de Cuba
Santiago de Cuba quite different from Havana, but I enjoyed both cities. In the centre of Santiago de Cuba this pedestrianised street is a great place for people watching. My tip if you have 1 Cuban peso (USD 0.04) to spare: Find the shop at the beginning of the street that sells some of the best lemonade you have had in your life!

This time I am sharing for American Friday a photo of ghost mining town in vicinity of LA called Calico. It was founded in 1881 as a silver mining town, nowadays it is a touristic attraction of how this kind of towns looked like.

Steamboats are a symbol of the USA. Here in Louisiana, we can still see some of them in activities on the Mississippi river. Obviously, they are more for tourists than for business, but it's always nice to admire. Taking a ride on one of these boats takes us back in time.
