@hansmast African Wednesday entry:

For one heart-stopping moment, this giant Simba was 7 feet away, had his eyes fixed upon me, and was walking right toward me in my open-sided safari vehicle. My pulse went through the roof, but at the last possible second, he turned aside and walked around our vehicle.

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - European Thursday week #33 - the absolute winner takes 200 SBD!

@rimicane European Thursday entry:

The Glyder Fawr is one of the amazing mountains in the Snowdonia, Wales, UK. There is a path to go up in this image. Climbing was ok, the walking back was a challenge because our feet were very shaky! The view from the top of the mountain was a breathtaking experience! There are two paths - challenging and moderate. Guess what - we took the challenging because it was the shortest up. What a mistake - always go for the longest because they are the easiest! Unless you are physically fit!

A few weeks ago, I went down to the Manhattan Beach Pier late in the day to watch the sunset. Manhattan Beach is just south of Santa Monica here in Los Angeles. As always I brought my iPhone, but I also brought my Sony Alpha a6000 Mirrorless to get some shots. This is one of those from the Sony. I don't get a chance to go often down to the beach, but I love taking photos when I do go.

Looks like a perfect night!

It really was! Btw, I finally got my first real life friend to join Steemit! He's got some great photos and I told him all about your contests! If you'd like to stop by and give him a welcome, here's his first post. https://steemit.com/introduceyourself/@andydazzzle/hi-steemit

Bolt Of Energy
A highly charged lightning bolt is seen here striking Capitol Butte in Sedona Arizona USA which is nicknamed thunder mountain. The thunder clash was so loud it made me jump. Strong thunderstorms like this one are beautiful and dangerous at the same time. But aside from that what a thrill it is to experience.

What a fantastic capture! Great job.

The skyline of Panama City. This picture was taken from the Metropolitan Natural Park. In this park you feel like walking through a jungle, though you are directly in a city. If you are lucky, you can see a sloth or two.

Thank you so much for your participation. What a great entry.

Rainbow Falls
Nice waterfall on Wailuku river in Hilo on Big Island, Hawaii, USA. The name comes from the rainbow which becomes visible in the mist in the lower part of the waterfall on sunny days. As it was not particularily sunny on that day, you can only see a hint of the rainbow in the picture (you can click the image to see it in full size).

That sure is a heavenly place. I would love to jump in there at this second.

Xcanche Cenote, Yucatan

The Xcanche Cenote is located near the Maya ruins of Ek Balam and was one of my favourite cenotes in Yucatan. Especially impressive are the roots of the trees growing on the edge of the cenote that go down all the way to the water.

Thank you so much for your contributio to today´s contest. What an amazing place that is.

Another photo from my recent trip in USA. We did the tour to Upper Antelope Canyon. Unfortunately I did regular tour, not photographer’s tour where you can focus on taking shots, but I am still satisfied with my photos.

Like you say, your image did turn out amazing without taking the photographer´s tour. Absolutely splendid.

On this picture of the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, I particularly like how the color of the bridge echoes the color of the vegetation, as if the bridge sprang out of the same earth.

IMG_0988.jpg

Oh yeah, the earth connects with the sky very nicely. Great image.

Thank you! All the important elements were there, and I was at the right place at the right time to capture them. Plus, that day I got to cross an item off my bucket list: walking across the iconic Golden Gate Bridge. Some days just rock!

Pacific Coast Sunset

The views from Panoramic Drive and Pan Toll Road are absolutely stunning. I took this photo a year ago from a hilltop above Pan Toll Road in the Mt. Tamalpais area north of San Francisco. After climbing to the top, I spent more than an hour watching the sun set over the Pacific Ocean, casting it's surreal light on the grass covered hills below me.

What a gorgeous image. Thank you for sharing with all of us. Tomas

And also, did you perhaps forget the upvote on my Ruby Beach post?

This sunset was taken on on of my early roadtrips to Banff National Park in Alberta. We stopped on the side of the road to admire the color display after a long summer day of adventure.

Such a natural beauty. Thank you so much for your beautiful image.

This was taken last weekend at a local State Park in Texas. It is called Garner State Park and it is near San Antonio, Texas. I thought it kind of looked like a split bean. It is actually called Mount Baldy. I just loved how it reflected off the river below.
