Cheesecake : Cooking with Crypticat

Hi Everyone,

Made a cheesecake (my first time) and thought I'd share the process with you because it turned out to be delicious 😻 this recipe serves at least 12 to 16.

Ingredients

3 eggs
3 packs of cream cheese ~750grams
16 oz or 500g of sour cream
1.5 cups of crushed Graham Crackers
1.5 cups of sugar
1.5 tea spoons of vanilla
3 Table Spoons of butter

Directions

Mix 1.5 cups of crushed Graham Crackers with 3 to 5 tablespoons of melted butter and 2 table spoons of sugar

Compact the mixture to the bottom of a 9in/24cm Spring pan and put in the freezer/fridge

Preheat the oven to 375F/190C
Make the filling by mixing the 3 packets of cream cheese with 3 eggs, 1 cup of sugar and 1 teaspoon of vanilla. I also added some lime, you can add chocolate and other flavours into the mix.

Mix it very well, pour it over the crust and put it in the oven (at 375F) for 55 minutes.

When there is about 15 minutes left you can begin making the icing. Mix a 500g container of sour cream with 2 tablespoons of sugar and half a teaspoon of vanilla. I also added some lime, you can add chocolate or other flavours and colours to the icing.
Once the filing and crust have finished baking, take it out of the oven and spread the icing over it.

Heat the oven up to 500F/260C and bake the cake for 5 more minutes.

Take the cake out of the oven, decorate it, and put it in the refridgerator for at least 4 hours. You can decorate it before or after the fridge.

That looks like a lot of calories :) Did you do your own bday cake

Only had a couple of pieces, it isn't difficult to give away cheesecake)

It's definitely filling

I haven't tried cheese cake before, but love to buy it when I go to coffees shops. Looks very nice.

It's not too difficult to make if you have a spring pan, just have a lot of cream cheese and a few people to share it with
