Playing Chicken with a Train
16th Street Mall, Denver, Colorado. Having grown up with all the warnings about the dangers of trains (I may have ignored them but that's a whole other story) and the need to give them wide berth, it was with bemused fascination that I watched and photographed this scene. Light rail ain't quite the same as the freight trains I'm more familiar with but watching people race to try and beat the train was still quite entertaining.
Makes you wonder what the brakes are like on that thing. What if one of those bozos were to trip on the rails?! 😱
Ha, yeah, I imagine they have to be pretty good. Subways seem way more dangerous to me but watching people trying to cross at the absolute last second was a sight.
