Chelsey's Chronicles #11: @chels eats Japanese BBQ
Hi Steemians! It's time to be visually treated with a Japanese dinner :P
@nishyfishy and I celebrated his birthday a while back at this cosy Japanese restaurant named Rengaya.
They offer an unlimited buffet option however, we decided it was best to pick our favourites and not stuff ourselves too much.
Hello Salmon Sashimi!
We first selected a two entree dishes to begin our food adventure. The first was a plate of fresh sashimi and the other was this semi-raw meat (sorry can't fully remember what it was) but together with this sweet but also tangy sauce - oh myyyy it was incredibly delicious.
Meat Masterchef
We moved on to cooking our own meat. If you have been following our cooking adventures, you'll know that it is mainly @nishyfishy who does the cooking. Here, it was also him cooking ahhaah. I trust him to always ensure the meat is cooked to juicy perfection! Be careful to not overcook the meat if it's your first time coming to a 'cook-your own' BBQ place - it's because you can't experience the tenderness and the flavour in your mouth.
Looking at these photos stirs up more excitement for when I visit Japan for the first time in July. I can't wait to explore the culture, but also all the food! (and that means more food posts!!)

came here to ask if you were still in for the ‘Play 4 A Newbie’ challenge, since I noticed you didn’t play any games yet.
Since you’re part of my team, I tag you in every game I play. You can be notified of every mention through Discord. Do you use Discord? Do you have Ginabot installed there?

Discord is a chat application. It is like the ‘behind-the-scenes’ of SteemIt. Different communities have their own channels where they talk about ideas, or just chat a bit.
I’m not so much of a chatter myself, but I think Discord has two important features: you can send each other personal messages, which can’t be done on SteemIt, where everything is public, and there is Ginabot.
Ginabot is a bot you can set to notify you whenever someone mentions you on SteemIt.
On SteemIt, you’re only notified of replies to you. If, for example, I gossip about @davemccoy in this comment, steemit wouldn’t notify him, because it is not a reply on one of his posts or comments.
However, because I know he has Ginabot installed on Discord, I know he will get a notification on Discord, with a link to this comment. (No guarantee he’ll see it, though. He’s always so busy - lol)
Now, the notifications are useful, but you can perfectly go without. Especially in the Play 4 A Newbie Challenge. Just go down the list in @davemccoy’s last post and play the games you like. Don’t forget to write down the numbers of the games you’ve played. Afterwards, just comment on Dave’s post, letting him know the numbers of the games you played, so he can keep track.
In case you’re interested in Discord, the link below is an invitation link to the Newbieresteemday Discord channel. You’ll need to create a new account, and after that I assume you will lant in the ‘general’ room of the NewbieResteem channel. That’s the plain chitchat channel (a lot of nonsense to be found there, lol)

I know SteemIt is a lot to process, so if you’re not ready for Discord yet, it’s not a problem. You can perfectly go without. Just take it step by step, or before you know it, you’ll be lost in the jungle that is SteemIt. Trust me, I’ve been there ;0)
I have Gina, so if you have a question or need advice, you can just type @simplymike in a post or comment, and I’ll be notified. I’ll come over as soon as I see it (can take a while, because we all live in different time zones).

(He will publish a new one in a couple of hours) and you just choose the ones you like to play. Most take only a minute, some take a little work. And then you let Dave know which ones you played.
daannng thats pretty cool! Thanks for the in depth explanation it was super clear and helpful. I will definitely check it out when I have some free time to get lost in the Steemit jungle :p
That said, for now I'll be sure to write down all the games I have played and let Dave know.
