Green Lantern Comic Pencils

in #art7 years ago

Sequential art takes time to get good at

and I have been working at it for a number of years, getting more and more focused with my execution. These pencil work samples were done a while back and I am pretty proud of them (mostly in the level of detail and cohesive look that I achieved.) That being said I see where I can improve the storytelling. I have learned a lot from getting great critiques from comic masters like Phil Jimenez and Freddie Williams.

I have few tutorial videos based on working on these pages, on my youtube channel. They focus on the thumbnails and rendering processes.
Find the first tutorial here.

Also...If there are any other comic creators out there, comment below and lets share our processes and inspirations together. Maybe get a critique or two.

Lastly Steemers, Don't only let your dreams live when you sleep.

Excellent pencils here. Everything just looks so ready to be inked colored and printed, great job!

Thank you so much! I try to keep 'em clean as possibly without losing the "grit".

Beautiful job. You're level of finish and professionalism are evident for sure. So glad to see more comic artists turning up on Steemit! Definitely followed and looking forward to a lot more content from you!

Thanks a lot. I have a love for Green Lantern in particular so it made me push the pages as hard as I could at the time. I have a lot more to post so thanks for the follow, I won't disappoint. ;) If you know any other good comic artists on here can you link me?

You're welcome, the effort definitely shows. If you haven't already, check out @kommienezuspadt, he's an incredible photographer who's also working on a new comic. Here's a link to one of his sequential pages.

@carverdelic has a manga series called Truth posted here on Steemit.

@steemitadventure is putting out some great comic style art.

I'm really excited about @drwatson 's comic project Ithaqa that he's writing and has brought together a great creative team for.

@orcish and @inber are good to follow for some daily comic style artwork, and I know @inber has recently decided to begin a graphic novel as well. And of course feel free to give my stuff a peek and drop me any comments or critiques!

Thanks Bryan, gonna make the rounds and see what these folks are all about. Really appreciate it.

Wow, yea, very professional, great sense of light source, proportioning, foreshortening, architecture, perspective and I really enjoy the little details in the distant backgrounds. These pencils have it all! Great job! I will follow you for more of this, don't stop!

Wow! So encouraging... if I was in a morning rut you would have definitely lifted me from the art grave. Thanks for the kind words. I will be posting a lot on here for sure. I may even start posting a new web comic here exclusively. Thanks again!!

Great job! Keep up the good work
Followed and upvoted!

Awesome, going through your posts, you have talent!

Ha, thanks a lot . I have tutorials on my youtube channel on comic storytelling if you are interested in that too.

Joe keep it up!
