Repair toys with children
Last week, my friend gave me a book called “Tips for a young family”. This is an old book that contains numerous tips on housekeeping, cooking and family life.
My family is not young. 2 months ago my 4th son was born, but I have read the book. Of course the book is a bit outdated since its release in 1990, however, it contained a lot of useful advice for parents and many smart thoughts like this:
"Never, under any circumstances, throw out a spoiled toy. While you can, you must repair and repair it, patch it to the last. Attract children to this work."
I strongly support this advice. My wife and I don't often buy toys for children and repair everything we can. The theme of today's repair was the Wall-e robot.
We bought it 10 years ago. In the process of numerous moves, the robot lost its head, and then one of hands. And now it's time for its resurrection.
We made a head from an old radiator for transistors, which I pulled out of an old TV (from garbage dump). The eyes are bottle caps, and the hand is one of the broken parts of the Lego Heroes.
All that was possible children stuck on the clay, and the other part I screwed and glued. It turned out very nice robot Perhaps not Wall-E, but his relative for sure :)
