Angela's Steemmonsters Adventure - #2 - JUST Made Diamond III For First Time - Tuesday, November 13, 2018 - ULOG #38

It's been exactly two weeks and a day now since I dropped all my inhibitions and chose sweet, unadulterated, clean, playful, gift-that-keeps-giving fun. At last.

Welcome to my Steemmonsters world.

Hey Steem Fam,

At the end of this my second week, I'll start with the very same sentence I began my first Steemmonsters post with...

It's been a fun, crazy, stressful, exciting, overwhelming, happy, synchronistic week that zoomed by even faster than most of the super-duper fast weeks this year.

Love to learn new things?

Well this past week was all about learning, absorbing and implementing strategy.

Just gaining more and more experience playing, getting to know the cards better and exploring new ways to put them together to build effective teams.

For instance, this is a glimpse of my current neutral monster lineup.

Neutrals can be played in any game, called up by any summoner from any of the other five splinters, Water, Fire, Earth, Life, Death and Dragon.

I love that there are new conflicts that start and end pretty fast throughout each main season. These keep the battles and strategies necessary to win constantly changing.

Then there is also the the main season countdown to rank up and maximize the amount of booster pack prizes that are won.

The last few days, the conflict was to play a set of cards adding up to only 17 mana. The Summoners were also silenced, whatever that means.

That conflict changed to a 22 mana limit:

Each card has a 'mana' count on the top left and streamlining a team that can win that's only 17 mana count was crazy... but fun.

Right towards the end, the blockchain node thingy went loony and games wouldn't load as fast as they usually do. But that just added drama and more excitement.

Being new, I wondered if they'd extend the challenge.

But no go!

That one ended, a brand new 27 mana challenge started and the longer than usual wait between battles continued.

I'm now just below the border's edge between the Gold 1 league and the Diamond III league:

Last night I was konking out but so determined to get to Diamond III before I fell asleep. But the 'nodes behind' message kept coming up and I gave in and went to grab some sleep

I did leave the browser tab window open though so I'd see it as soon as I got to the laptop. Still hasn't loaded a game but I'll keep trying all day until I clear this next league advancement hurdle.

Then the delays will end, we'll be right back to lightning fast game loading and we'll be on to a brand new season, my first season change since I started playing two weeks ago.

Until then, I'll be ranking up as far as the cards and my wits will take me.

Even after writing up the draft to this post yesterday, Monday, November 12th, I kept hitting the Steemmonster battle buttons,

Because of the temporary slowing down of the playing that all Steemmonster players are now experiencing, it takes several, sometimes lots of tries, before a battle completes loading.

This is usually the fastest part of the whole battling process... the loading of the games so we can enjoy sweet battling all over again.

But during this interim phase when finetuning happens on the backend, we're battling delays too, in addition to monsters. ;)

Until things are sorted in the next few days, that's just how it's going to be.

BUT, despite all the delays and disappointing fully loaded THEN cancelled battles, I FINALLY achieved the Diamond 1 level league for the very FIRST TIME!!!

Yayyyyy!!!

That TINY advancement up the league ladder is even SWEETER because the blockchain processing of delays made it take so much longer than it would normally have.

All the frustration, all the disappointment just fell away when that Diamond III award notification popped up!!!

And the bonus or brawta as we call it here in Jamaica????
