This is a weekly, semi-automated post where I will show some statistics and graphs of the development category. It will also serve as a showcase for the staff picks and task requests that were made in the current week. If you have any suggestions or things you'd like to see in this post, then please let me know!

Staff pick(s)

Utopian Messaging/Chat Application by @tensor

This contribution is about the new Utopian messaging module and will be part of the new Utopian platform. The application adds a messaging service so that users may communicate with one another directly and indirectly. The module will also let the platform serve notifications to users about the status of their projects and contributions. There are many more cool features included, and to find out what you will need to go check out the contribution!

Category summary

  • There were 34 contributions of which 28 were, or will be, rewarded.
  • The average score was 58.1 with an average reward of 98.3 STU from Utopian.
  • The total reward from Utopian for development contributions this week (so far) is 98.3 STU.
  • There were a total of 31 unique contributors in the category. Unfortunately there weren't any new contributors.

Average score, reward (STU) and time before review (hours) per week

weekly_overview.png
Time before review is the amount of hours between the creation of the post and the time it is reviewed by a moderator.

Unfortunately the average score of contributions is down from 64.4 to 58.1 this week. Despite the average score having gone down this week, the average reward is up from 78.1 STU to 98.3. Lastly, the amount of hours it takes for us to get to a contribution and review it (on average) has gone up a lot from 13.6 to 20.0.

Amount of contributions reviewed per week

As you can see the weekly amount of reviews is down from 48 to 34. However, the amount of contributions over the last two weeks (82) is up from the amount in the two weeks prior to that (61).

With the amount of reviews going down this week it's unfortunately not that surprising to see the amount of unique contributors go down slightly from 36 to 31 either.

Managing particle physics model information in Python by @lemouth

This task request is for PyRules, a Python version of the FeynRules program which allows you to connect a Lagrangian, an equation containing in a non-ambiguous way the definition of a particle physics model, to numerical tools. Specifically this task request focuses on designing a data format to store the information that will have to be inputted by the users.

Much like last week, a fantastic post, and I still really want an version of it for the Blog category.

I do have one thing I would really like you to change in future posts in this series. I'm guessing it's a template, so please just swap it out:

Amount of contributions reviewed per week
Amount of unique contributors per week
Amount of contributions reviewed per moderator

The word "amount" is only used for noncount nouns. For count nouns, you should use "number."

Your contribution has been evaluated according to Utopian policies and guidelines, as well as a predefined set of questions pertaining to the category.

Once the situation with the voting bot has been solved I'll definitely look into adapting it for other categories. Also, I feel so embarrassed that I never knew that "amount" is only used for non count nouns. Especially with me being a native English speaker. I'll definitely fix that, thanks!

Thank you for your review, @didic!

So far this week you've reviewed 9 contributions. Keep up the good work!

I like this kind of post even more than the last time. Well done, Amos. It makes me try creating a template for possibly all the categories.

I think I'm going to replicate (or similar) this post for the Analysis category. The worry is that there are not nearly as many contributions...
