Your teacher was asleep, teacher: A steemhomework story

It was the day that everyone dreaded. Well, every teacher at least, it was the day where I was going to be assessed by my boss. So naturally, I told my class that I was going to be assessed and they promised that they would be at their best behavior. I was glad, but you can never be too sure.

On the day of the assessment, I acknowledged the person assessing me and starting my teaching. I used my best teaching methods and materials, I was confident and my students were all superbly cooperative. However, halfway through the class the unthinkable happened. My students started talking to each other and laughing. I thought, how dare they betray me! Horror and anger was what I was feeling, oh, they shall feel my anger. One of the student started gesturing to me to look at the back.

I looked and all my anger and horror faded away. I could not believe my eyes, right at the back of the class, the person who was supposed to be assessing me, was fast asleep. It was not a nap, but he had his head rolled to the side on the chair with his mouth wide open. It was an awesome sight, but it is not something you want to be seen doing in a class of 45 teenagers. Looking back, the only thing that stopped some of them from drawing my examiner's face was their respect for me. Perhaps, it could be fear, but at least they did not do anything funny.

I collected myself and continued teaching, an hour later, the bell rung. The person assessing me thanked me and left the class and as soon as he walked out, the class burst out in laughter. One of them took a photo with a smartphone which was brought to school illegally.

One of the best things that happened throughout my time in that school, was that the students had my back when I needed them. A good lesson that I have learnt was that if I took care of my students, they would do the same for me. I hope you enjoyed the story.
