ADSactly Poetry : Lucid Lyrics Designed to Expand Minds (Part 35)
Hello Steemians! The ADSactly Poetry : Lucid Lyrics Designed to Expand Minds series is designed to be a sort of platform for sharing some of my greatest works with @adsactly readers.
Many of the verses I've shared and continue to share were written in collaboration with a friend of mine.
Others were written as solo projects and some made their way to the recording booth.
I've got another special piece for @adsactly readers today, this is a short verse which is designed for readers to 'sing-a-long'.
The background music I wrote it to has been embedded below. I dare you to give it a shot!
I really hope readers enjoy these and let me know what they think about them.
Personal Best
Put one foot after the next and when ya think you’re done take a couple more steps.
It’s not a real effort til youre out of breath.
Each day I try to log a new personal best, a new all time high that you gotta respect.
Giving my 100 pct and nothing less with a brush I paint these words of literacy alliteration comes naturally nevermind this rhyme its off topic.
While at the same time I’m possessed and cant stop it, still obsessed with whats next drive the ball down the court and don’t drop it.
Keep your head held high like an ostrich stay on the hunt for the truth avoid the sausage if you cant solve the mystery then tell me who your boss is.
But whats the point well I think I lost it oh right as a matter of fact it doesn’t seem to take much to keep us all on track take a look around avoid the pitfalls and traps of society enjoy a few days of sobriety those girls in the corner keep eyeing me but I’m too fucked up and that’s the irony.
Never been a fan of misogyny of course I could change my mind if a pretty girl’s massagin me.
But the true fallacy is that of what we describe as normalcy when the truth keeps poking its head out of the sand we cover our eyes and ears and make no effort to understand and all the while we take step after step as designed in their plan but of whose we dont know too afraid to be let down its why we do what we do driven around by the emptiness of our ego and its fragile at best even the slightest insult could result in a couple of cracks.
It’s a thin wall of glass comparing ourselves to others always trying to put oneself up while putting another down lack of true self love and confidence what I would give to switch it all around the world we live in can be so vapid trying to navigate the social scenes like white water rapids.
Just a bit of honesty is all im askin for but one of these days we gonna settle the score with our oppressors relentlessly scheming for more in a world where the leadership is psychotic, schizophrenic at best better keep marching along to the sound of the beating heart in your chest.

This piece was very fun to create. It just came so easily and really was a lot of fun to perform. Give it a try yourself and see if you can find a nice cadence for it.

We live in normality made to measure, almost in our image and likeness. We take continuous steps, in the same line; sometimes we get out of it, but it ends up being a simple and passing deviation, almost a mischief. And we continue in the lane. Yes, it is normal to wonder how much of what we do is programmed in some way shape or form. How much of what we do is truly original and spontaneous. Are we just a product of our environment or is there something more...
Now I know that people can rap at the rythm of any genre. I had never heard a mariachi rap.
It sounds great. Cool arrangement.
There is not a single day I do not think about what it takes to be the best version of ourselves.
The visible obstacles we face daily are nothing compared to the ones we ignore, the ones that remain in the shadows hidden by human hypocrisy and basic instincst and media crap we are fed from childhood.
True, we can and should follow our hearts. The transcendentalists talked about self-reliance, but the world around us keeps closing in on those who try to claim their independence from its oppression.
Mad houses are full of those who tried in vain.
I wonder if it is in our nature that those better fit either with money ormind power will always enslave the masses just for their own gratification.
Every day is a battle, and often times, as I am feeling it now, even when we are out of breath our effort is not good enough. We keep sinking.
Yes, the heart, the last bastion of our humanity. Without it I doubt our species stands even the slightest chance of survival. Love... Where's the love?
Society is meant for us to be one. Trying to be different can also be a fashion and so we are the same trying to be different. The meaningless! I believe that in the individualities that come to the surface how can they, that is differentiated without major noises or masks. There are things that stand out in their simplicity and simplicity. Trying to be different can be a risk and we can be isolated. However, we cannot give up making our own footprints and leaving our own marks. Greetings, @zentalk
The ego can be a very powerful force. How we see ourselves defines our reality... Vanity can be a waste of time but many cling to it and value themselves in odd ways, how much money they have, the cars and clothes that they own. At the end of the day they won't be taking any of it with them when they pass on. Some may regret not having made their life's main focus something different if they have time to reflect when they get old...
