Facebook Might Crush Steemit Overnight.
- Facebook is launching Suggested Videos Feed. Where they use a very similar tactics with Steemit.
- They will place ads on your Facebook page's video. You get 55% Facebook gets 45% of the ad Revenue.
- Steemit lets people have around 75%
- Why is that dangerous? If they pay for people to post videos, it's likely that they will place ads on your page and you would get Revenue share depending on how much traffic you get! So people start making money on facebook just like on Steemit.
- Now there is a LOT more facebook users than Steemit users we all know who will win that fight.
- Let's Not Forget That Facebook is gigantic comparing to steemit.
- In December 2014, Facebook surpassed YouTube in views for the first time, and from now on experts predict to get a bigger piece of video hosting market.
How bad is it?
There is a possibility but steemit is still soo different. I'd rather make money here and have value of Steemcoin tripple-quadruple and so will my money! Than posting on facebook and having to compete with all facebook users 2 Billion or so!

- Just be on the lookout for Facebook and if you see facebook making moves in direction of steemit's market, power down a bit, to be safer! You don't want to wake up one day and realize that your $100.000 is now worth $7.425.
I believe that is a possibility but i don't think it will be on the short term. Although tumblr is testing and trying to find a way to do that. But they are still testing out and haven't disclosed a lot of info about it. 😉
That's another possibility! Steemit Is not Immortal, but it will for sure grow within these few years!

That's true! But with time steemit will become crowded too, But that's only in future. As of now in my opinion steemit has more potential than ANY of other cryptocurrencies.
interesting read, I agree with you, steem is so much more valuable to have anyways, and the whole system is different then this proposed facebook ad thing.

The main reason being: 234,498,577 SteemCoins in Circulation Vs 16,395,012 on Bitcoin.
If Steem will go to $300, It will beat bitcoin by Market cap value!
So here we are talking 2-3-4 years of Steem growing non-stop
but 10-25$ is realistic, either way, i think this is the greatest site to be a content creator on.
Steemit is clean. Facebook it's dirty and full of useless content. This is the difference.
Here, we will be huge - in few years - if we write articles every day.
It is a big difference. I just hope a huge amount of new users won't make it crowded and dirty more like facebook :/
This platform was invented for people like us that are feeding their hearts helping others. So, here we will be together - more then others that are here for bad things.

Nice article... I see what you mean by the sheer numbers of Facebook users being a threat to the value of Steem thus this community....
The thing is that. Facebook probably won't go and create a cryptocurrency. Well, who knows these days. But like I said that's 3-5-10 years from now. By then We all made a killing here :)
fbibook is horrible, I'm pulling for steem all the way.
I would rather not watch another video again than watch one on facebook, and honestly I'm not troubled if tons of people stay there.
Good riddance, they're probably bad company anyways. I like the community as it is and if they want to stay in corporate land so be it.
