PAL FOMO
Wait. Isn't Steem supposed to be "dead"? Why is there so much going on here? New dapps, tools, projects, and all that kind of stuff.
I read about PAL palnet.io from this post by @jongolson and immediately got FOMO! Something just sounded right about this platform so I jumped on straight away to have a look round.
I had already decided to give all these tools and new developments a go. Even though I'm kind of a Steem purist, I realise that every new product that is built on top of Steem is good for Steem.
I'm not quite sure how this works yet to be honest. I'm going to be learning as I go, but the plan is to just use it as normal - as I would use Busy.org or Steemit.com. I had a look at my wallet and it says zero everything :) . I assume this post will propagate to Steem as usual, and earn Steem, but not necessarily any PAL.
It has that feel of a fresh start. In a way, it gives the opportunity to right some 'wrongs' on Steemit now with three years of hindsight.
PAL is not the first attempt at a reset - I've seen Whaleshares, Smoke, and others but I like the fact that we're still plugged into Steem here.
EDIT:
One Issue: I accidentally published this post before completing my thoughts. I was entering the tags and hit the return key on my keyboard to register the tags - which published the post.
This was not the expected behaviour (from muscle memory) from using the other frontends. I don't know if the devs can have a look at that behaviour.
Ok, I might as well end it here. The blog post is already published anyway and I'm sure some people have already read it before this final part, or before I got to correct my typos :)

i ‘think’ i powered up a few PAL so i’ll try to upvote this on PAL as well as on steem.

OMG that makes sense. The transaction would be the same.. so you can't do the same transaction twice.

I just did the same. I assume the upvote function is just Steem related. I think the PAL is awarded by a bot perhaps?
it must be. not sure how some people got those bigger pal upvotes. so i tried to pal power up...thinking you need to be a member of the pal discord community for the bigger votes. not sure at all.

Another purist here, occasionally using some other interface than Steemit.com. I’m so lazy and old that I don’t wanna learn a new platform every week, though should probably try each one more than five seconds at some point.
I think I heard about 'smoke' from one of your posts some time back. Yeah, I should put in more effort too. I'm really trying now.
Steem is definitely not dead really, I think I'd just have to check out PAL myself, a lot has been happening new prospect and new projects on the platform definitely difficult to keep up, well this is good and every dedicated person will definitely not miss out, steem is just beginning.

SAME! Just published my first post on PALnet - it's awesome, as this means communities don't have to leave Steem, but can just build on Steem - that's what always was the vision of SMT's.
Nope, Steem isn't dead, it's growing all kinds of new branches that can become huge trees some day - all needing Steem/RC's to keep on growing ;-)

No, the other way around doesn't work - don't know if it ever will :D There's so many condensers now, lol, triplea.review is also launched today, and there's at least three more I've seen recently.
