There's so many cause of noises here in my neighborhood and it stresses me out more than it should
It rained here today in my neck of the woods and really all I can here is the sound of raindrops and the flowing water as it flows down the years-rotten gutter of the roof of our house. The sound is annoying because it is quite loud and when I am watching a video I cannot here what the speaker is saying for example, much worse if I am trying to listen to music because I will definitely turn the volume higher which I do not want to do because it will just be a mix of noise much worse than before if I will try to beat the already deafening sound of the raindrops falling on our rusty roof. It does stress me out some more knowing that our roof is not in the bets condition even when I was younger, nothing has been added to it to maintain it but holes, cracks, and raised nails which rotted the ceiling. The addition of another room in the mid-90's to make room for the three boys in the family turned-out to be a bad job because of the integrity of the structure beside that room deteriorated and thus it affected the ceiling in the living room and some parts of the new room which no one now uses and just turned into an ugly warehouse where my father as a hoarder puts things in there as well as in the store where my mother used to sell a variety of house needs about twelve years ago to which the new room is connected by making a doorway for the store which is facing the road.
The road is a major source of noise here in our neighborhood for obvious reasons particularly when motorcycles and diesel-engine vehicles happen to pass-by. It get worse at daytime because many people go and from work until night time as well as those who has a business for going somewhere either to and from school if there is a face to face school in the case of students and pupils because they use public transport while others use their own service vehicles for the purpose, I mean you know, people are busy doing things at day time which is why the roads here are quite busy during these hours but it will begin to get quieter as the night deepens until we get to the wee hours of the morning although I will not definitely get a break where no vehicle would pass-by with a 30 minute interval. So if you live in some rural area with not much neighbors around, then definitely you will not cope living beside the road unless you have the funds to make your house sound-proof in which it also has a downside for doing that particularly if it does get very, very quiet? Then the corrupted sensitivity of your own ears, I mean if you have a ringing ear syndrome like me, then it will be like being subjected to the same noise. However it does make a real difference if you have a good and quiet environment or a place in the house like your room where there are no noise per se which can cause you a disrupted sleep like the noise coming from the vehicles if you happen to live beside a road.
I am also annoyed about barking dogs, even our dog, it is just a little dog, I say medium in built, black like a Doberman dog and very ferocious when it sees an "intruder" or an unfamiliar face. Actually our guard dog is doing an excellent job and working as expected because we get an alarm or notification as a loud bark from our dog when there is a person at the gate for delivering something, guests, neighbors, family members, relatives, and friends who wants to visit, give us something, ask for something, etc., and undesirable people whom we want to ignore then the bark of our guard dog is invaluable with its purpose in which has been a necessity as dog bark sound is not only terrifying to hear but the dog itself can also bite and you will be lucky if the dog has no rabies, however being bitten is a painful experience indeed particularly if the one that bites you is a special dog like a big Pitbull which are designed to kill both other dogs or people. Street dogs often are a menace especially at night, not only they make the streets dangerous to walk through because they also chase and bite but sometimes they bark non-stop. But a neighbor's own dog can also do barking noises especially at night where you will definitely get bothered when it is time to sleep. Many years ago I got the ideation of buying a .22 rim fire rifle just to use it when dogs on the street gets so noisy because during those times I am already suffering from a severe insomnia, I am just luck that at least my mind didn't get affected by more than a decade of having a sleeping problem as a complication of an impending Kidney failure until it failed already and made me susceptible from being anemic which causes my sleeping issues and it stuck to me even in this current time where I can no longer sleep like a normal person does as my sleep pattern is always intermittent but at least I can sleep already unlike in the past where my eyelids gets painful because of me trying to shut them for my effort to catch some minutes of sleep time.
Well of course there are sources of noise here inside the house, but what I am referring to are the ones that affects my sleep when I wanted to have some sleep time and when I want not to get bothered when I am doing something like this, writing my world. That is why when my parents turns on the radio, I get annoyed because for me it is just a noise especially now that we can never trust the news other than if they are broadcasting accidents and deaths in the road particularly, then it is true but for real news which we can listen to the radio, it just annoys me too that news today are unreliable. Playing music through an AM radio is one thing that is just a noise for me as well and I always try to close my room if my parents would switch AM stations to the one that plays music. Nowadays my parent's source of entertainment is watching Facebook "Meta" and YouTube videos and my parents loves them because my mother never faded her optimism to watch funny videos or those that would make her interested in watching while my father does the same with YouTube and sometimes "googling" around to search for things, terms, subject, or whatever. But when they are using Facebook to watch videos, well of course it creates these annoying repetitive laughs and it can be ok for a while but if I will continue hearing that over and over, it starts to again, a noise for me but only during the time as I said, that if I wanted to have some peace and quiet for a while. But for now I will have to endure these things which had been an annoyance that affects my health at some point and well-being in some aspects. I just hope that I can get a solution ad I guess that again, it will boil down to having a house to meet my needs of peace and quiet whenever I want and needed it.
