Moonlight on the Mountain
Last night was the annual Moonlight on the Mountian at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. This event is a sell out every year and it gives people the opportunity to not only see most of the animal exhibits without many people at the park but also a great opportunity to sample local food and drinks from area restaurants and businesses.
This little guy was tired. He just played with his buddies and then was zonked out and didnt care who was looking.
You think your goats are tough where you live? These Colorado goats like to eat cold hard steel.
This is actually a peacock sitting on the ski lift lines at the zoo! First of I really didnt know that they flew around that much but, I for sure didnt know that they sit up right on power lines and such.
Feeding giraffes is fun and those long tongues give them at least an extra 10 inches of reach to snatch up the goods.
My mom @willowwisp is a drum player and this in one of here big events every year. When you walk in the gates and hear this music is seems as of your actually in the Bush country and not at a zoo. Her drumming group sounded great last night, I overheard many people commenting about it.
Our zoo is one of the most unique in the whole world. Its actually built right on the mountain and the natural vegetation and trees just become part of the animal habitat. When the sun starts to set in Colorado, there is almost no picture that is more beautiful.
This is the shot 9f downtown Colorado springs from the zoo. It looks far away but its only about a 15 min drive.

That giraffe picture was so freaking funny, I love that you caught it in the act. Nice shot. Any day at the zoo is great and the Moonlight on the Mountains is, without a doubt a great one.

Music and zoo and family music in one post. I love the view of Colorado you give us from your perspective cuz.
I hear those peacocks are a pain in the ass to get back when they get up the gumption to perch up high. Their call is damn powerful too as I recall from visiting them in high park zoo in Toronto.

Zoo is the most time selected for family recreation and refreshing, all day long and have good time with those animal.

Hello @brontnuzt, how are you doing? Wow ... it's a nice holiday going to the zoo with the family. The atmosphere at the zoo looks very interesting. I like steel-eating goats and giraffes that stick out their tongues. Sunrise , sunset or moonlight will look very beautiful behind the mountain. Enjoy your day, sir.
