Hello there Steemians!

I want to try something new, something I've been thinking about for a while. I'm bringing my Zen Colouring series back in the form of a colouring contest!

Each week I will provide a stencil to be coloured in with no restrictions on the medium used, with a chance to win 2 SBD for 1st place.

To add a little twist and interaction within the community, there will be a featured colour each week, picked by the winner of the previous week. This colour must be used in some way in your interpretation (use as little or as much of the featured colour as you like). There isn't a featured colour this week due to it being the first week.

The contest will run week to week, to provide enough time for entrants to colour in the pattern. It's Zen for a reason!

This week's contest will run as follows:

Tuesday 13th, 18:00 CET - 'Week Starts' post
Tuesday 20th, 09:00 CET - 'Week Ending' post
Tuesday 20th, 15:00 CET - 'Winners Showcase' post
Tuesday 20th, 18:00 CET - 'New Week Starts' post
(CET - Central European Time)

No entries are accepted after the 'Week Ending Post'

Let me know what you think.
I couldn't find a contest like this, so I decided to create my own. I'm excited to hear all of your feedback and hopeful to see your beautiful entries by next Tuesday! Hope you have fun with it!

What a lovely idea @magiccleatus!! It is obvious you have put a lot of effort and thought into your contest which is to be commended. I do not have a printer sadly so I will challenge myself and colour the stencil digitally instead.

I love adult colouring books (Millie Marotta's are my absolute favourite!) so this is right up my street. It'll be my first ever attempt at digital colouring/drawing so it could be a bit rubbish but I'll give it my best shot :D

I hope your contest spreads like wildfire, it's such a fun concept!

Upvoted & resteemed!

Awesome to have you on board @gardeningchef! Kudos for trying a new format of colouring for the first time too.

Thank you for your kind comments and support!

Good luck in the contest!

Hey @gardening chef how are you going to do this digitally? I don’t have printer either. Some basic tips would be helpful.

I announce contests on a daily post. Can I advertise this for 2/14/18 ? Joy

Thank you! What an honour! It would be great if you could feature my contest in your post! :D

Will do! Proud of you @magiccleatus

Good work Joy 😉

Aww thanks :). Joy

Hi MC,
WOW ... a truly brilliant competition - and i LOVE your design SO MUCH!!!
Awesome colours - wonderfully organic looking. You are already a winner in my books!

Upvoted and resteemed :D

Hey @icedrum! Thank you so much for your support! I hope I can make this contest a success, I'm super grateful for your upvote and resteem!

What a lovely contest idea. I may have a go digitally but it’s new to me ... possibly. I don’t have a printer you see 😉
Upvoted and resteemed though as I want to enjoy looking through all the entrants you get.
Good luck and nicely conceived.

Thank you @sallybeth23! Might I suggest one of the Adobe softwares if you have access. or perhaps a free painting app for a phone or tablet?

I look forward to seeing what you create!

Oh excellent thanks MC I will check that out - I love the design you have given us to work with btw
A creation of yours, no doubt 😉

No problem, Yes the design was created by me. I used a combination of the multi-brush tool and stabilised brush on my favourite painting software Krita.

Krita is really good, if any of your devices support it, you should give it a go.

Also I don't see your resteem, If you are to enter please make sure you resteem this post when you make your entry post. :D

Amazing contest ,im jion @magiccleatus

Thanks! I can't wait to see your entry! :D

Thanks .. The core is up to followers want to draw what, or coloring what it is ???

I don't quite understand your question.

If you are asking whether or not you can draw what you want, the answer is Yes and No. You must colour the pattern provided, BUT, you have creative freedom to add lines if you choose! But you MUST use the stencil provided. :D

I hope this helps!

So the gamers that are in your post I color, so you mean, and do not boles I gamabar flowers or in other forms yes ? :)

This is the outline pattern that you must colour in, you can colour it in how ever you like and even add some lines or shapes to it!

I think a few words are getting lost in translation, so I'm finding it hard to fully understand your questions, apologies.

I'm sorry, I am not fluent in English, because I am aceh people, but I want to learn english and I am very eager to go to english but it is difficult for me to speak english, once again i apologize to you with my word: D, so must draw the money you give me color to enter your contest

It's okay :D

Yup, just color the outline I have provided and make a post about it. just follow the rules :P.

What a great idea! :) I'm tempted to participate just for the zen of it ;)

Thank you! You totally should! I'd love to see what beautiful colours and techniques you'd use!

I'm not sure beautiful is really in my wheelhouse :P

I guess I shouldn't use finger paint for this one. I bought two coloring books with these designs last week. This was a fantastic idea for a contest.
Joy

You can use finger painting as a method of colouring if you like! :D

It's a pretty unique and original approach!

go for it! :D

Wow ! Really an original and creative contest!
I was given a Bamboo tablet yesterday, I will be tested this for the first time.
A new experience thanks to you @magiccleatus.
I would do this quietly this weekend after work, to get acquainted with this new revolutionary tool of art.
Good luck to all and especially enjoy and relax in this drawing.
upvoted and restem.
Thank you Magic for your communicative creativity!

Amazing! Glad you got a graphics tablet so quickly!

Thank you very much for the support! :)

I look forward to seeing what you create with your first exploration into a new medium of art!

I will wait for another contest to present my works! haha
I downloaded Krita and it will take time for me to take care of it because there are many functions to master.
Here is my unfinished drawing !!

I did not understand everything for filling the areas.
I will come back when I have learned more.
I miss a little time right now.

Awesome to hear you are trying out Krita! It's my 'go to' Art and drawing software, I made a post about it a while back and I made this handy shortcut guide:
Maybe it can be of some help to you?

Great job on the colouring too! A brilliant first attempt at a new medium of art for yourself!

Thank you!
I'm going to look at your article, it'll help me move forward!

I just found this and I think I've just missed the time allotment for this week! :( I will definitely have to have a go at it this coming week! This is such a fun idea!

You have unfortunately. But next weeks stencil will be posted later today! :D
