I love the dull shades of colour used in the body and base of the hourglass, the certainly bring a sense of ornate metals and glass. The shading throughout the whole design adds so much depth and realism to the piece and filling it with a sand texture is genius. You use of dark shadowing also adds a lot to the depth of the image, my eyes especially lock on to the ornament in the very middle and the supporting frames around outside. I also really like the shimmers of white that help add to the glass effect!
