Zen Colouring Contest #36 - || Temporal Introspection
Hello Steemian friends, here’s my entry for this weeks “Zen Colouring Contest #36 - Temporal Introspection.”
For this image, I really wanted to spend more time making the hour glass shape look like a real hour glass, halfway filled with sand. I wanted it to look as though it was made up of glass and different kinds of metals. I love this design, It was so much fun adding shading to it and watching it come alive. I think that this is my favorite image given to color in this contest thus far. I’ve been a regular member of the Zen Colouring Contest, for about 11 months now. I digitally colored this stencil in, with my iPad Procreate App using an airbrush tool, and another tool that made the fine speckles of brown sand. I love the dull shades of colour used in the body and base of the hourglass, the certainly bring a sense of ornate metals and glass. The shading throughout the whole design adds so much depth and realism to the piece and filling it with a sand texture is genius. You use of dark shadowing also adds a lot to the depth of the image, my eyes especially lock on to the ornament in the very middle and the supporting frames around outside. I also really like the shimmers of white that help add to the glass effect!
