After watching this video it took me years to figure out why the conclusion is wrong and doesn't work.

All of the build up to the conclusion is chalk full of very good information. Very well laid out facts. And so, you don't have your shields up when they fly some lies in under the radar.

A resource based economy doesn't mean anything.
When we used gold/silver as coins to exchange for things, that was a resource based economy. You are exchanging one set of resources for another set.

Cataloguing all of the earth's resources is an impossibility. We are constantly finding new areas that have elements copper/gold that we never knew was there before. Also, if you were to do this in 1950, would Lithium be on your list of important resources? Now with batteries being as important as they are, The U.S. has invaded Pakistan.

So, if you were the programmer for the computers that would distribute all the resources you lack every important measure you need. You don't know how much of anything you have, you don't know what people want and you do no not know who will make the best use of any resource. Top down directed resource distribution doesn't work. (Just look at the famine in Russia during Stalin) It doesn't work because it goes against the laws of the universe.

The other piece that doesn't work is that it is a utopia idea. Utopias do not work because your idea of a utopia is not my idea of a utopia. Many utopian ideas have been put forward that are my idea of hell.

The last piece that is truly missing: We "consumers" are fed a banquet of bullshit. The adage, "Think globally, act locally" doesn't work. Such as, you are worried about recycling and cutting down on the amount of trash you create. And you think with all the "land fill issues" that it is important. But did you know that consumers are only responsible for 5% of the waist? 95% of the stuff thrown out is done so to bring the products the store. Almost all of the pollution is outside of your control too. This movie doesn't cover these important facts.

All in all, this is a very good piece of propaganda. The information in the beginning is first rate, but the conclusion is false.

Thank you for sharing your extended thoughts on this documentary.

For me it is not a dogma, specially not the suggested solutions. Although I like to have hope, even a little. And I guess any utopian idea merely can be seen as a suggestion. A trigger, food gor thought. Breaking through paradigna's that became dogma.

The first half of the movie I do value a lot. The suggested solution I see as an inventation to free creative thinking. And I think that even in utopian ideas there can be something of value. Things that actually are practical.

Utopia's are essential for humanity, some might have an apple falling from the tree that will make someone shout: "Eureka!"

The documentary is interesting. Your honesty gets my vote though. It's a pet peeve of mine when I see people posting another person's efforts for their own financial gain. Thank you.

That is why I Declined Payout, meaning this post can only get upvotes and can be resteemed.

And I wrote a disclaimer in stating that I do respect the conditions set by Peter Joseph.

You're welcome. :-)
