Mainstream media taking a dump at EOS and blockchain - Stupidity on display (EOS=BitConnect)
Less than 11 hours ago John Oliver released this video and it has already reached 1.2M views.The idiots makes fun at 2 projects. BitConnect and EOS.Plz take your time to dislike this BS.People shouldn't be talk about things they don't know.
No worries, I think this episode of LWT has been good for BTC and cryptos in general. I enjoy John Oliver beeing a descent host on various topics and also here the episode came out pretty well balanced.
I agree he was going a bit to hard on EOS, but first of all I believe that EOS doesnt suffer from such kind of "bad" publicity, chances are that people that know nothing about crypto/blockchain will as a result of this video go and check out as example EOS more exactly.
And second, in case you are anyway very upset about this episode, then you are acutally supporting the video by downvoting it. The reason is that the amount of likes AND dislikes is a significant factor in the youtube-algorithm which helps a video to be listed on the trending page (which I think is a good thing after all but might be the opposit of what you wanted to achieve).
From a relative point I'd say John Oliver is the best and greatest (because Reason Tv doesn't really count)
It's just the severe lack of research that sucked. He did some decent research on encryption (I liked a video to @abhicrypto) I mean Bitcoin Tx sucks. But what about Dash, PIVX, NEM or even that DAG - NANO which seems like it'd be better than IOTA but I haven't done enough research on it.
EOS is totally worth the billions it got. the tech is real. Few hours of Technical research should be enough to understand that. Video getting more publicity is good because more eyes on Blockchain and EOS. Dislike is good because Johnny needs to learn to do more research. My intent wasn't to make the video less viewed or anything. It's just calling out BS.

I'm willing to assume that some people died either laughing or being embarrassed. (Think somebody showed a clip of Carlos when you mention you invest in cryptos.)
I don't think he was trying to discourage people from investing as much as showing them why they need to be careful and not invest more than you could afford to lose if you do. Essentially what I think will happen in the future is that big banks and companies will figure out a blockchain strategy then as always will line the pockets of politicians to regulate the industry. Most of the cypto currently being developed will be put out of business labeled as ponzi schemes. Logically you have to think about anytime anything threatens the status quo pockets get lined to put an end to it, right now they are sitting back watching the development of blockchain technology, once they can develop their own they'll go after what threatens them. That's the reality of it, you would have to be rather naive to think that the monetary system in place is going to yield or stop existing just because some guys came up with a new money system, no they won't, they will take that technology, develop it, regulate it and find a way to squash all the others.
The problem is the total lack of research. It didn't looked like he did any significant research into EOS.

Mostly it's just luck. MB generally votes after 57% VP. Cryptopassion used to be at 94% then it was 98% and now I don't even know anymore. Try sending when MB is above 57% VP.
