RE: Zappl Open Beta Postponed Till Sept 22 - 25th

in #zappl7 years ago (edited)

I've asked questions and you don't give an answer. I think Zappl is a SCAM unless you answer my questions, which you've refused to answer for months.

Who is your dev team?

What is their experience?

Those simple questions you've ignored and dodged every time.

Spare me and all of us the "you need to sign a NDA," rhetoric.

Also domain escrow? Escrow fooorrrrrrrr? You already own and control zappl.io and that's where the site is going to be, right?

Try to get millions from people, stall, try to get more money, avoid questions, stall some more, avoid questions, stall, try to get more money, stall, stall, try to get money from people, avoid questions, stall, try to get a few million dollars from people, stall.

Get real.

I'm also curious about why escrow is needed for a domain. Is it not available? Can it not be easily purchased? I've bought many domains and never had any problems acquiring them - certainly didn't need any escrow for it.

And requesting an NDA for information about the dev team seems a little absurd to me. I get that they might want privacy, but if you've registered as a corporation, most of that is or will be public info anyway. I can see why the unnecessary secrecy could raise some red flags.

I mean...this seems like a small-scale and essentially a vaporware project (perceptually speaking), with what may be an ambitious valuation, so the lack of many key details/info can be seen as a negative. This especially applies when there really is no available "resume" for the (secret/secretive) team.

The responses that I've seen aren't reassuring. Based on previous "dev projects," they're the same kind of responses we've seen from others who produced nothing and skipped town with a lot of money in their pockets. I'm not saying this is happening here, but if I was part of the Zappl team, I'd at least acknowledge and try to understand how all of this looks to an already leery community.

The issue is many people have tested zappl's alpha already. So its isn't vapor ware in fact he now know him self it isnt. Since has bought some dex coins to be able to test the alpha.

The secret comes from the company being a private company, the investment is also for private investors. Its not like we got some secret Illuminati secrets its just the choice the developers choose not to be public and because of that they hold no stake in the company.

Any further information requires you to sign an NDA.

Nothing wrong with being a private company. And there's also nothing wrong with being skeptical about a company asking for a relatively huge amount of investment from the public while producing nothing for the public to see, without NDAs or a lot of convoluted procedures. As I said - you should be able to recognize how that affects perceptions in a community that has seen plenty of scams and failed dev projects that were likely never actual projects.

As long as there is no available public product, then the public perception will likely be "vaporware."

But it isn't just the NDAs, or just the lack of public product, or just the secret devs, or just the domain escrow issues, or just the defensive posture/flagging...it's all of it that can contribute to the perceptions of your very young company. It's not really a good way to win over investors and supporters. As a new company, you'll need to learn very quickly how the negative perceptions can really hurt and how you can better manage them. What you're doing certainly isn't ideal, in my opinion.

I want useful apps to be developed and I want to see them succeed, but I'm not impressed with how a lot of these projects mostly lack good management and PR. It's just as important as development, especially when people have legitimate concerns.

Best of luck to you and your team. I hope there aren't too many more delays.

This is exactly my sentiment. I want these dudes to kill this project and succeed. Success for apps on the steem chain is success for us all.

I'm not trying to be mean, brash, etc. I'm just simply wanting elaboration on who is making this (as a curious potential investor). Millions of dollars are a lot of dollars.
