My Story Submission to @xpilar imagination contest 2

You are looking at a poster you can buy at WhizzneyWorld. You know that big expensive park down there in Florida? This is one of the rides, called "Voyage to Outer Space."

I was in this area for a work trip and had one day off. I decided to go to WhizzneyWorld since I had never been before. It’s not really a place to go alone, just in case you are wondering.

"Voyage to Outer Space" was new at that time, so I decided to try that one first and went straight to it after I paid to get in. In the poster, you can see the tunnels and lobbies – I think the ride goes through them, but I’m not really sure.

When you get to this ride you are not there yet! You start at the end of a huge line in the heat for at least an hour. This ride is new and popular, so I started this journey quite far from what you are seeing. The line makes use of the architecture and has you climbing all through it. It’s not hard to do – just long and hot. It snakes all over the place underneath and though the building and back out again and there are signs saying:

1 hour wait
45 minutes wait
30 minutes wait
15 minutes wait
You are almost there!

At least you know how long you have to endure this. It was hot and humid and my feet started hurting from shuffling along.

As you pass through, Whizzney has all kinds of displays you can look at and learn from. This is all about space so you learn things like how far away Mars is from The Sun and what a giant nebula is. I don’t need this information, but it was interesting. A few robots are doing “space chores” like getting the rockets packed for travel and helping “people” get their space suits on.

You are walking underneath those tunnel things and at one point pass a bank of windows that has a Whizzney Store and another that seems to be a space themed country western bar, but I did not go in, so I am not really sure. “Space Music” plays and every once in awhile there is a big wooshing sound. At certain spots in the line, you can see this noise is the sound of the ride going by very close through one of the tunnels.

As I got to the front of the line, I saw that there was some sort of space vehicle we were all going to get into. You cannot choose your seat – you go in order. The car you get into has a few rows of a few seats each. You are all packed in there like sardines, and the seats themselves are very tiny.

I wedged myself into the seat and as soon as my row was full, two Whizzney cast members came to pull a big metal bar back to keep me and the people in my row locked in there.

Well, guess what?

Yup! My fat stomach was too big for the bar and held it open. I’m like, “OMG, now what??”

The girl working on my side said if I held in my stomach, it might work. My stomach is full of fat, not air! It’s not going anywhere. The girl on my side and the guy on the other side put their whole bodies into it and the man next to me on the ride (skinny) pulled hard.

No good! That bar was not closing and it felt like it was going to cut me in two!

They tried another few seconds, and the cast member next to me said, “I’m sorry ma’am. You will have to get off the ride. We have to be able to close this bar for safety reasons. It’s not just you. This happens a lot. I’m sorry”

So I had to haul myself out of this little seat and get back up onto the platform. Of course, every person there was looking at me in disdain while this went on.

I thought I would have to walk all the way back through the long line, but it turns out the ride has an escape hatch at the front so I went out that way. This put me way on the other side of the ride and from there I found the exit, went straight to my rental car, and back to the hotel - wondering why I had even tried to have fun.

Even though my obesity is gone, I still remember it well. This story is fiction, but based on reality. Everything got better when I finally lost weight with natural methods. Anyone can do this is I did!
