Doing Blogging the Right Way - A Must Have Checklist For Bloggers

Seeing the title you may think, ‘Is there really a right way for blogging?’ The answer is no. You may blog about anything you wish and however you want. There are no limitations for that. But there are few things you have to keep in mind while blogging. I am not going to bore you with complex stuff but I'll give you a simple checklist that would come in handy while you blog. Here we go, 

Niche Specific content  

The first thing you should keep in mind is that your blog should be niche specific. Your blog should revolve around that particular niche. If you share content about latest tech in a cooking blog, it may sound irrelevant for your audience. They are in your blog for your cooking content. If they see anything other than that, they might start to lose interest about your blog.

Target Audience 

Remember who your target audience are. Create content according to their mindset. If you blog for people around the age group of 15 to 20, use less complex words and use images they can understand easily. If your audience are of a mature age group filter your content keeping them in mind. 

Keep it Simple 

Don't beat around the bush and keep it simple. Blog your ideas exactly with what you want to say. If you jump from topic to topic without concentrating on a single one, the readers might get confused. Say exactly what is on your mind. It's easy to write than talk, right?! 

Keywords 

To make your blog to be noticed by many, your posts and titles should be rich in keywords. Keywords are the base for your blog posts. So it's important to build your blog posts with high traffic keywords. Keep in mind, you should not stuff keywords in your posts. Use keywords in your title, then in the first paragraph of your post, finally while concluding your post. That will be enough.That is the trick of doing blogging the right way. Social Sharing

It's good to be focused to build a content rich blog. You should also build a fan base in social media like Facebook, twitter and Pinterest. Even though you get a good amount of traffic through google, you will attract more number of readers through social media. At first build your fan base in any one or two social websites (I would prefer one) so that you can focus your energy and attention on one, than many. Don't forget to share your posts on social media. 

Talk to your readers directly

Most of the bloggers who are new to blogging makes this mistake. They don't talk to their readers directly. The use of passive words more in your posts won't engage you with your readers properly. So use active voice and engage with your readers more often.

Be honest

Be honest with your readers. Authenticity is very important while building your blog. Being authentic builds a strong bond with your audience. Your readers might turn out to be a regular visitor to your blog. They may even recommend your blog to their friends. If you don't know something, just accept it. Be open.  

Don't rush to publish your post 

Once you have finished writing your blog post, don't rush to click that publish button. Take a five minutes break. Go through your blog once again. Correct if you find any mistakes in punctuation and spelling. You may even get new ideas to rearrange the content. Add headers and check alignments. Take around 15-30 minutes to edit your post. I also get tempted to publish soon after writing the post sometimes. Don't give in to your temptation. Editing is useful to skim the simple errors you did while you were typing with blazing speed. 

Consistency is the key 

Post regularly in your blog. If you publish three posts per week, keep it consistent. That way google could bring you a fresh amount of traffic every time you post. If you post inconsistently, the traffic rate will fluctuate and readers will not engage constantly with your blog. Keeping a schedule for publishing will come in handy. Consistency is the key to get a good amount of traffic and engagement. 

Don't plagiarize content

Never ever plagiarize content from other publishers. Copy pasting content is one of the cheap things to do in blogging. As a result google will penalize your blog in its search rankings. Use your own voice to talk to your audience, don't steal it from others.
