My Inaugural Speech-- In Case I'm Somehow ElectedsteemCreated with Sketch.

Beautiful people, a beautiful city-- a beautiful world. Great job, I must say!

I want to thank you all for your support, and it means a lot that you believed in my message enough to consider me to be worthy of your votes.

My message was easy enough to like-- it was always about us, as competent humans, being able to create wonders and beauty from our amazing imaginations-- it was never about us asking someone else to imagine those things. It was about our ability to care, and help one another, without being asked to, or being forced to help.  My message was never about hope-- hoping that someone else would nurture the world, or hoping that we could find strong people to take on the task. My message had always been, that WE are that strong people, who nurture the world because we are decent, and we are kind, and we can love.  We like to help each other-- we always have, and always will.

We have beauty and laughter to share, and we wouldn't think of denying ourselves the simple joys of things like shared laughter. Do we vote for someone to laugh for us? No. We don't find the best 'laugher' in the tribe, and delegate all laughter to that one selected person. No, we don't give away such things because laughter and love is beautiful, and it may be WHY we are even here in this world together. We won't give away our care!

If, with your votes, you have chosen me because you know my message well, and you know that our own compassion and wealth of decency is sometimes forgotten, and that I could perhaps teach that idea of love to those who have been deprived of it, to spread the message beyond our communities and our own circles of friends, and that I could perhaps be that critical messenger. If you chose me to send a message to those who have overlooked these beautiful parts of ourselves, then that is why I have written this speech, and that is why I am delivering this address on this fine and splendid day.

My friends and supporters-- listen well! After today, you will never see or hear from me again. The words and message that you attribute to me, are yours. I am one, but we are many, and many hands, as they say, make light work. But is it work? To share understanding and to care about the people around us? Yes! It is the Greatest Work, and to hope that someone else is going to be able to do that work for us is just unnatural, and if we looked at it from a community level, it would be considered irresponsible behavior, or plain laziness, to try to hand it off so easily.

This speech is seconds away from ending, and when it does end, we will be looking at the beginnings of a new earth, where we all care enough to make efforts to show that care, and to prove, without a doubt, that we ARE love-- made entirely of it, and we are able to merge our humanity with our creation of a world, and we will-- as we've always done-- take all of our power and share it with all of our community, instead of giving it all away to one person on a podium.

I believe that you have made a good choice-- you have chosen yourselves, and you know that you can do it, and you know that I can't think for you, or laugh for you, or cry your tears for you. I leave this in your hands, but you are not alone, you have each other, as you always have, and, by the way, I love what you've done with the place.

Thank you, and goodbye
