              In my article this time I will explain to you about the ultrasonic ping sensor, Ultrasonic ping sensor what it is ? let's read down and stay focused.

Ultrasonic Distance Sensor Ping

                  

             PING ultrasonic distance sensor is a sensor parallax 40 KHz production are widely used for applications or contests of intelligent robots to detect the distance of an object. The workings of this ultrasonic ping sensor similar to the workings of the bats fly at night.



              PING sensors detect the distance of objects by emitting ultrasonic waves (40 KHz) for t = 200 us then detect the reflection. PING sensors emit ultrasonic waves in accordance with the control of the microcontroller control (pulse trigger with 2 min tout us). This sensor specifications:

  1. The range of measurement 3 cm-3 m.
  2. TTL trigger input positive pulse, 2 US min, 5 US typical.
  3. Echo hold off 750 uS of the fall of the trigger pulse.
  4. Delay before next measurement 200uS.
  5. Burst indicator LED to show activity sensor.

               PING sensor also has a working principle, basically, PING sensor consists of a chip 40KHz signal generator, an ultrasonic speaker and an ultrasonic microphone. Speaker ultrasonic converts the signals into 40 KHz ultrasonic sound while the microphone is used to detect the reflection suaranya.Sensor PING detect the distance of an object by emitting ultrasonic waves (40 kHz) for tBURST (200 μs) and then detect the reflection. PING sensors emit ultrasonic waves in accordance with the control of the microcontroller control (pulse trigger with Tout min. 2 μs).

The Working Principle Of Ultrasonic Ping Sensor

      

                This ultrasonic wave through the air at a speed of 344 meters per second, about the object and bounces back to the sensor. PING issued a high output pulse at pin SIG after emit ultrasonic waves and the reflected waves detected after the PING will create a low output on pin SIG. High pulse width (TIN) will be in accordance with the long travel time of ultrasonic waves to 2x measuring the distance to the object. Then the measured distance is :

                                                  S = (tIN x V) ÷ 2 

Where :

S = distance between the ultrasonic sensor with the object being detected

V = Propagation of ultrasonic waves in air (344 m / s)

TIN = Difference in time transmitting and receiving the reflected waves.
